Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A one night stay of 3 people for a wedding. Tommy was so friendly and accommodating. Everything supplied for a hearty breakfast, especially the marmalade and bread 🥰 Felt very homely and comfortable, beautiful private garden at the side and close to all attractions.

This was a very central location in Birr and was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding in the town. The fridge was well stocked with everything we needed for a good continental breakfast with many other little touches that were much appreciated. We were very warmly received and supplied with everything we could possibly need for our stay. There was absolutely nothing NOT to like about this property or our hosts. Highly recommended.

Host was quick to respond . Check in was made very easy for us. Host was very helpful. Appreciated all of the small touches. The host really thought of everything- coffee/ tea/ breakfast options/ condiments and even wine. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was spotless also. Very close to the town of Birr. We were within walking distance to the centre. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Good value for money too.

It was a beautiful space full of personal touches- from fresh-cut flowers to breakfast supplies. The property itself is situated right near the heart of town. The hosts were absolutely fantastic! I honestly cannot recommend this stay enough!

All was great
Exceptional ! I have stayed in many places but this has to be up there with the very best. The hosts were so helpful, greeting us with a bottle of wine and having the place immaculate and stocked with bread, bacon, smoked salmon and beverages. Thank you so much, you made our stay in Birr such a memorable one.

This was a great place to stay. It is located just beside the Birr Castle Estate on a nice quiet street. The hosts were warm and welcoming. They gave us tips on where to eat and places to see. The accomodation was comfortable with outdoor seating in the garden. I would highly reccomend it for a lovely place to stay in Birr.

The sitting area in the apartment wasn't quite large enough for the 4 of us to sit comfortably (hanging the TV on the wall and adding a chair would fix that), but we didn't sit around so much there. The kitchen could be better equipped. A grater, sharp paring knives, something to wash dishes with besides paper towels that fell apart. The pluming in the kitchen and the bathroom left something to be desired, however, we found that to be true in many of the places we stayed during our 2 weeks traveling through Ireland.
The hosts were marvelous and very attentive. They provided a lovely brunch spread for the 4 of us that took us through our entire stay. We were in walking distance to the Castle, village of Birr and the pubs and restaurants and it's central location in general put us in reasonable driving distances to explore the surrounding areas. A beautiful sitting area in garden area was very nice.

The decor is a little old-fashioned, but I can live with that.
What a really lovely surprise to find great food for snacking and for breakfast in the fridge! Really impressed with that. The beds were super comfortable.
