Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandA Truly Magical Stay at Loop Lightkeeper House What a lovely, beautiful, and truly magical place! The Loop Lightkeeper House has been thoughtfully renovated in a modern style while preserving its old-world character. It's clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The peaceful surrounding area makes this house more attractive. In the evenings, you can take a scenic walk along the cliffs, and in the mornings, you're greeted by the sweet sound of singing birds. It's such a calming, inspiring environment. The location is also perfect—just 27 minutes from Kilkee and only 6 minutes from a fantastic restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. This is a very special place, made even more so by the wonderful owner, Jane. She is warm, friendly, and truly has a heart of gold. I would highly recommend staying here. I’m already looking forward to coming back soon!

United StatesWe did not have any downsides worth mentioning. There are a few things that visitors should be aware of to decide if this property is right for them. 1) The property-at-large is open to the public during the day. This DOES NOT include your private accommodations, but people will be walking around the property and touring the lighthouse. The property is gated, so during off hours, the gates are locked. Guests are provided with a key to the gate, so you can come and go as you please. 2) The property is surrounded by cliffs that are quite tall and are not fenced off. Families with small children should take this into consideration.
Jane met us upon arrival and explained what we needed to know about the property, appliances, nearby food and attractions, etc. We found the three bedrooms to be spacious and the dining, sitting, and kitchen areas very clean and well maintained. We did many of the meals ourselves. The lighthouse is surrounded by cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on three sides; you are staying at the very edge of Ireland! During our stay, it was overcast and rainy, so the views were limited; however, this did not detract from our experience at all. If anything, the weather gave us a more authentic feeling of life in a lighthouse on the ocean. The bonus part was, when the sun came out, rainbows were everywhere! We stayed as a family of four (ages 53, 52, 20, and 13) and we all had an amazing time. Everyone at Loop Head Lighthouse were fantastic!

IrelandCouldn’t fault it tbh
We loved that it was so different to anywhere we’d ever stayed before and even though it’s an unusual property it felt so comfortable and homely and at the same time had all the mod cons and more. The interior was a pleasant surprise and they’ve really thought of everything from books, puzzles to vinyls, coffee making facilities, clothes horse and outside private dining area. Loved the huge shower and bath.

IrelandI love travelling and I would say this was one of my favourite stays ever. Top 1 or 2 places I’ve stayed in in Ireland ever. It’s so unique, you can lie in the bath and look out at the Atlantic. I was worried it would be cold but it heats up really quickly. Sunsets and sunrises were incredible and we got a really clear weekend so we could see the mountains in Kerry although I would have been happy to be inside with a storm howling outside too. A magic experience with the very very best of hosts.

She went above and beyond to make our experience perfect, from her warm welcome to her exceptional care throughout our stay. The lighthouse is a magical place, and even the windy weather added to its charm – our four kids loved every moment of it! Thank you, Jane, for making this one of the best family getaways we've ever had. We’ll definitely be back!

IrelandI think it must rank top of my list for a location in Ireland to visit. Loop head attendant’s cottage’s was decorated with its surroundings in mind. It was luxurious the minute you walked in the front door. Details such as the overhead wallpaper in the hallway and sitting room took into account the location. The binoculars hanging on a hook was a reminder of times gone by. Each room, downstairs and upstairs were complemented by reading material, novels and informative leaflets of surrounding locations that are so well worth a visit. All the rooms were very cosy. The kitchen had everything one needed. And the bathroom upstairs, omg, it was class, the magnificent decor that surrounded a fabulous bath and I have no words for the shower, all I can say is I will have to put it on my bucket list for my own bathroom. And finally, our host Jane, a lady, very welcoming from the get go. She was always at the end of the phone, even the lovely texts we received really made it feel that this was more than a job to her, she was passionate about the house and a true pleasure to deal with. Anyone who stays here will feel the same. Thanks Jane and

IrelandMy friend and I had the best weekend at the cottage. From start to finish it was exceptional. Jane met us on arrival and she was a dream host. She clearly loves her job and where she lives, her passion for the history of the lighthouse, cottage and the surrounding areas was infectious we couldn't wait to get out to explore. The cottage itself is well equipped with everything you may need. It is so cosy and comfortable and we had a super weekend. While we were there Storm Ashley arrived and it was wild which we loved, the electricity went and Sunday morning Jane arrived with breakfast and coffee for us! You wouldn't get it in a 5 star hotel! I have already booked another stay for the Spring, can't wait to return. Thank you Jane.
