Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe rain...but I can hardly blame Oonagh and Frank for that one!
A lovely stay in a beautiful little cabin. Great communication from the hosts. The bed was amazingly spacious and comfy and everything you need for a short stay was right there. The village is only a short stroll away and all the big natural attractions are only a short drive from this location.

IrelandThere is nothing we could think of.(Maybe a electric fan ), but it was a warm weekend.
It was our first time staying in Shepherd's Hut, and hopefully, it won't be our last.

United KingdomI found the bed a bit firm, but realise that these things are very much a matter of personal preference.
This little hut was like a super cute dollhouse! It had everything I needed in it, and it was immaculate. The location was beautifully quiet. There was a useful shop a short distance away, and pubs (although I didn't visit the pubs). I would happily stay here again when visiting family in the area.

We loved everything about Shepperd's Hut. It was spotless, so cosy (so well insulated), great location & so chilled. Dromahair is a fab little village & everything you need for a trip away. Leitrim is a beautiful county to explore 😍 Oonagh was so friendly & informative, giving us lots of information on places to go & see.

IrelandMy partner and I had a wonderful stay here. It is a very cute hut in quiet area with a hiking trail leaving right from the town. Very convenient to other parts of Leitrim and Sligo by car. We were able to cook breakfast on the hob which was a great touch.

GermanyJust one minor thing that I feel could improve the experience (especially when staying longer than just two or three nights): It would be nice to have a pull down rack/contreption or something with a few hangers so that one can air clothes overnight. I used one of the chairs which worked out but wasn't ideal (I was lucky with the weather, but especially when getting caught in the infamous Irish rain, it would have been troublesome to leave the wet clothes somewhere without causing damage to the wooden furniture).
Really loved my stay at Market Street Shepherd's Hut. Not only is it located in a quiet residential area within walking distance to grocery stores and food outlets, but it is also spot on in the middle of a lot of nice historic sites (especially megalithic). The hut is equipped with everything one needs for a few nights stay. The kitchen even has a small stove top. The bathroom is a nice size and I didn't have any issues with the hot water supply (said this, it was just me and I have very short hair - so I do understand that I could get a bit more complicated with more than one person and/or long hair). Overall, it was an absolutely lovely experience and I hope to return in the future with more time to explore the area in more depth.

Australiajust minor things the cut wet grass all got tracked onto the floor - better outdoor hard surfaces would help the bathroom basin was blocked but managed to unblock with jugs of hot water the bed is so high some people would struggle to get up onto it pods are generally cramped so no surprise there

IrelandBed is a bit high cause of the pull out bed underneath, but it was a very comfy bed. It would be great if you could charge your phone or plug in laptop near the bed. An extension cord would be a plus
Really nice acommodation with everything you need for your stay from hairdryer, microwave, toaster to stove top. It is very clean and I like that they are doing their bit for the environment by segregating waste and using eco cleaning products👏 I really enjoyed listening to the rain tapping on the roof. Would definitely go back and recommend it to others

United KingdomThe hot water tank is small so you can't dwell too long in the shower. This is a very minor thing, I was advised in advance and it didn't detract from a great stay. All in all the place is great!
Great location, a short walk to the centre of the village. Host was extremely helpful. The accommodation was immaculately kept.

The hut is very cute and well equiped. Oonagh is lovely and very attentive. She made us feel like home and ensured we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is great, not far from the main street. Parking available in front of the hut. Dromahair and surroundings are beautiful. The hut is well located and handy when visiting different spots in Leitrim/Sligo area. My mother and myself enjoyed the experience and appreciated the gifts left for Xmas. Thank you so much, we had a great time!

IrelandThe shower only warmed for 3 minutes, so we had to have cold baths on really cold days.
The cabin was very clean, there were clean towels, blankets and all we needed to stay, including a portable heater which was enough to warm the cabin.

IrelandPhone coverage wasn't great and was unable to connect to mobile data all the time. In saying that it was nice to disconnect with the outside world for a fee days.
Such a beautiful place to stay. My little one called it her Barbie hut, she just loved it. Oonagh was very friendly when we meet. We were early and she didn't hesitate to come straight away with the keys. Everything we needed was supplied and nothing was a bother to them. If we needed anything extra all we had to do was ask.
