Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We didn’t make use a of breakfast tea… but didn’t see this area either. Caution… not handicap accessible.
Easy to get to and direct onsite parking. 2nd floor BR2 in a private home up a narrow stairs. Shared Bathroom down hall-very clean. Bed very comfortable… woke up to birds singing. Proprietor very friendly & welcoming.

Nothing to note.
My stay was incredibly comfortable and easy. Praise was very attentive, checking in with me and communicating that is there was anything I needed to make my stay more pleasant that he was there. One morning he noticed that I couldn't prepare my coffee easily and went out and bought a cafetiere the next day! The house was very clean and quiet, I felt very comfortable and would stay again.

The location was conveniently close to where I was working and the ease of checking in and out was greatly appreciated. The location had no through traffic so it was nice peaceful in the evenings and nights. Praise was a great host and responded promptly to every message and accommodated my requests.

My sister and I had the misfortune to book 3 nights in a so called Superior King Suite at this establishment in Athy. We have visited Ireland for the last 15 years to see our sister in the St Vincent's Hospital Care Home, Athy. Normally finding accommodation in the area is not a problem, but we left it late and our regular places were fully booked. On arrival, we used the keybox to gain entrance and on investigating the Superior King Suite found it was anything but Superior. The bedroom wardrobes and drawers were full of clothes and the only space for guests clothes was a hanging rail. The bed covers, pillows and towels all needed replacing and smelt. There was no mirror, dressing table or chair. The bathroom had an under sink cabnet full of owners toiletries with a small mirror on the wall over sink. A rubbish bin was full. There was also another double bedroom and a single bedroom with a shared bathroom, so not much privacy for occupants of these rooms. The kitchen was available for guests but was as bad as the rest of the house. The rubbish bin was full. There was a computer on the dining table leaving only a small space to use. The dishwasher was full of crockery as also was the draining board. The fridge had half eaten cartons of food. This property is on a housing estate and car parking was in front of the house. For safety we felt the need to take all our luggage into the house. We cannot give this property any rating and would never stay there again. We are Irish but now live in England. Having used Booking.com many times, we are surprised that you could approve the description. Do you check property descriptions?. Are they written by you or owners themselves?.

Very narrow single bed, wardrobe, small bedside cupboard, lamp. No curtains or blackout blinds on window, wooden Venetian blind so bright in room. Noisy, could hear actual conversation of guests in adjoining room late night, v. early morning. Pillows and covers need refreshing/replacement. Parking was scarce. Booked 2 nights - stayed one 🫤

We felt it was slightly overpriced considering you didn't get a breakfast however there are facilities to do your own breakfast if you wish.
Very clean comfortable room. The host was excellent for communicating with and was able to facilitate an early check-in which we really appreciated.
