Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The property was lovely and cosy and had absolutely everything you would need for a self catering stay. We did a good bit of exploring around the Cavan/Tyrone areas and it was a great base and location for that. Áine was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend and will come back if ever in the area!

Murray Lodge was a great place to stay, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable beds and had everything we needed, lovely touches such as fresh milk in the fridge, tea and coffee. The location was perfect as we were competing in Cavan Equestrian, and it was only 15 minutes away by car.

The heating was very efficient, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The host could not have been more accommodating especially as she had not received notice of the booking from Booking.com till the morning after we arrived.

Áine was so friendly and helpful. The area was extremely quiet. Murray's Lodge was comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was a fifteen minute walk (on a footpath) from the bus stop, which was important, as we had no private transport. Walks in the town and surrounding area are peaceful and scenic. We were able to walk from Murray's Lodge into the middle of Killykeen Forest Park, and walk back afterwards. There was a wonderful café (Nana Tilly's) on the greenway to Killykeen, which we enjoyed on the way out and on the return journey! We sat outside Nana Tilly's enjoying the fabulous lakeland view. We also hiked from Murray's Lodge to Drumlane Abbey, a beautiful ruin in a breathtakingly beautiful situation. There are some gravestones in the surrounding graveyard that sre worth seeing. There is a well-stocked shop in Milltown, which is beside the location of Drumlane Abbey. We got takeaway tea and some picnic items in it, which we enjoyed at the picnic table adjacent to the shop. The looped walk in Killeshandra is gorgeous, and there are interesting old churches in and near Killeshandra as well. The hotel in the town served lovely food, and we also enjoyed the fare in the café in the middle of the town. We bought all of our groceries in the two grocery shops in Killeshandra. Cavan town was a twenty minute bus journey away, providing us with more to do. There are quiet areas for walking out the Glenside Road from Cavan town, and the Glenside Road can also be used to start a peaceful walk to the back way into Farnham Estate, going along roads with little traffic. We walked and lunched in Farnham Estate, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. If our stay had been longer, we could have used Local Link buses to reach more places to explore. We met helpful, friendly people everywhere we went.

IrelandCan't think of anything
Accommodation had everything we needed, and I mean everything! Anything we thought we forgot, there it was! Alot of thought put into the little things you might need when away from home with kids. Aine was so friendly, left us to our own devices but checked in now and then by text to see if we needed anything. Our kids even got to play together on the toys and swings outside. She was even so kind as to see if we needed a travel cot and high chair before we arrived, which left us space in the car, and had the travel cot set up when we arrived, a very welcome help after a long drive! A nice remote location very close to one of Cavan's lakes. Ask Aine about the beach to.swim at, we only found it on the evening before we left.

We had a fantastic break. Host Aine met us and provided an extra fold up bed for me (the mammy) as boys sharing bedrooms. Lovely thoughtful touches included basics like bread, eggs, coffee, tea, milk, biscuits etc all available and even dishwasher tablets left for us. I left washing out to dry and Aine was so kind she actually folded my dried laundry and left bagged on doorstep (sheltered from rain) as it started to rain. Extra towels etc offered and loads of advice on where to eat and in advance on activities in the area and facilities. Could not have asked for a better host... Even a dedicated doggie cupboard with pet bowls etc although had brought our own. Will definitely try to stay again if available!! Thank you Aine & family
