Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe mattress was very old and lumpy, and prevented us from having good quality sleep which was disappointing as we loved every other aspect of the stay
The staff were lovely, the ambiance and interior design of the hotel are great, absolutely loved the outdoor firepit. And was breakfast each morning was lovely.

IrelandI loved the character of the property - its individual style. A real step out of the craziness of the big city. Very peaceful with beautiful communal areas. The staff were all excellent & the breakfast was delicious. A great location for me when I come to Dublin to work in the big city hospitals - the bus outside the door took me to St Vincent’s in 10 mins.

IrelandThat we couldn't stay longer!!!
Number 31 is truly an oasis in the heart of the city. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome – professional, friendly, and always accommodating. Our room was stunning, stylish, peaceful, and so comfortable. The breakfast was nothing short of unbelievable – easily the best we’ve ever had, with such a fantastic variety that we felt completely spoilt for choice. A very special mention to Delia and Molly, who were so warm, friendly, and an incredible team. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made our stay unforgettable. We can not recommend Number 31 highly enough, and we will definitely be returning!

IrelandIts a little pricey.. but rightly so. It has some extra special bits in the bedrooms like pillow spray. Local handcfaft chocolate and even sanitiser. However it would be nice to have slippers and maybe a robe. But again thats down to my personal love for a robe. They do magnificent with or without. Hats off to them.
Private, secret escape, Between the obscure but thought out entrance that leads you from the hustle and bustle to a contmemptry warm building that feels just like a home. They have really designed something special here. You can feel it as soon as you arrive. Tastefully designed. It would be lovely to see one in every city in Ireland.

United StatesWhile having a fan is nice, when the curtains are closed at night, get no benefit from the open windows. Air conditioning in room 21 would be my suggestion.
Quiet. Large room. Excellent location.

CanadaEven with the window opened, the room was hot and stuffy. Luckily, a Dyson fan was available, which made it more comfortable.
The staff was amazing and very helpful providing us a parking spot. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed having a drink on the patio space next to the fountain. Even though our room was next to the breakfast area, it was very quiet and spacious, as was the bathroom.

United StatesBedroom. Quite dark. Basement brick wall with no electrical outlets (that means : no lamp. Hard to read). The whole thing about being stylish (nothing remarkable). Same for breakfast: what you would expect from an upscale place, nothing out of the ordinary.
Small hotel, small and nice lobby. Staff.

IrelandNothing.
This was a charming Georgian hotel. The modern part was lovely. Across the beautiful courtyard, where the bedrooms were, was the older part. It was really nice. The room was comfortable and clean. The complimentary treats were a lovely surprise. Delicious breakfast. They don't do evening meals, but there was a lovely restaurant just a couple of minutes away. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely book this hotel again.

Canadaas mentioned above. Having wine at the hour bar and serving a lunch, salads soup etc...simple and easy. for the non breakfast types.
I'm not a breakfast person so I didn't have breakfast. I do think a small cafe style lunch space from 1-3 pm would be ideal. plus wine at the honour bar would be appreciated. I loved everything else. location as I am a walker and places were easily accessible on foot, St Stephens green, trinity college etc..The attention paid to the detail of the decor as well as the little extra touches that make us feel comfortable. And every staff member I met was friendly, warm and helpful.
