Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA bit of noise from the pub below on Saturday night but I didn’t really mind it at all.
The room was excellent very spacious and a really lovely view down the street to the harbour. The shower was the best and the bed was ever so comfy. Exceeded my expectations I had such a lovely stay.

United KingdomLocation is excellent. We were aware that there would be noise because of location, there was music in the bar below but we heard nothing. Thank for upgrading our room it was fantastic. Would highly recommend .

NorwayMiddle of the town, perfect location, small but very nice room, great spacious bathroom looked almost new. Great shower. Staircase a bit steep, but very nice. Stayed on the upper floor and did not get disturbed by the pub on ground floor ( not the same entrance)

United KingdomAbsolutely fine for our group but probably not for you if you want an early night, as directly above live music pub.
Brilliant location, excellent facilities, lovely open space with contemporary design. Right in the heart of Kinsale.

United KingdomA lovely one night stay in Kinsale. Great location in the centre of town. We got a great sized apartment as our dog was with us (let them know if you’re travelling with a dog as only one room/apartment is suitable). Staff went over and above to help us out and make sure we had a great stay. Highly recommend.

United KingdomAfter booking I was told about the noise! Kitty O'Sheas has live music every night and their outside beer garden is open and backs onto No1 so it was noisy. Also staff cleaning up afterwards seem to be oblivious of visitors trying to sleep. By 3 am it was all quiet!
Central location but tricky to find. Locals didn't seem to know where it was. Had to ring to get the actual building. It was signposted outside so maybe a description of doorway beside Kitty O'Sheas would help. Kinsale is delightful and lovely to just hang out there. So many pubs and restaurants. But not so many dog friendly.

New ZealandA spacious, comfortable house with lots of room to relax. Located within walking distance of fabulous walks and beautiful beaches. Ideally situated, especially for anyone attending Oideas Gael courses. Check in and check out were extremely easy and the friendly owner was available if needed. Can highly recommend.

IrelandAs we were warned by the owners, it is extremely noisy there. Fantastic location but right over the bar that has live music. They did supply earplugs to be fair though. Music finished around 12 but still noisy as our room backed onto the beer garden.
Just over Kitty O Sheas bar in the middle of Kinsale. Fantastic location. Room small but functional. Nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. We will be back if we are in Kinsale again

United StatesPersonally I enjoyed the pub music from Kitty O'Shea's downstairs. But if you mind music & some street noise, it would be better to request a Unit on the next floor up. This information is also in the listing.
Amazing townhouse, clean and great location. I stayed in unit 1 which is well equipped with a dishwasher, washer and dryer. You can walk to everything from here, including 2-3 grocery stores, the harbor, restaurants and pubs. Fantastic location especially for a traveler without a car. Very good communication from host- timely & clear.

United StatesA HUGE caveat to weigh before even considering whether to book — yes, the pub noise is definitely noticeable (pretty much impossible to escape in the evenings). If that's going to bother you, then this isn't the space for you! I'm a night owl though who doesn't go to bed before 11:30 anyways most evenings, and found the pub good about shutting down promptly at closing time and chasing people out the door. So if you're okay with later bed times, then the noise is almost kind of fun/adds to the lively "you're definitely in Ireland now!" feel that much of Kinsale has.
Standout hospitality by Jacqueline and Peter — Jacqueline was even kind enough to bump me to a different room during my stay that was a bit more spacious, while being upfront that it was likely going to be a noisier room since it was closer to the pub they're over. The almost "hosted" nature makes it feel more like an Airbnb stay rather than a formal hotel, so a good option if that's the style of accommodation you like. The space also feels refreshed, with fixtures that feel new and are kept very, very clean. You DEFINITELY hear the noise of the pub (see below) but overall the space was light, in a perfect location, and a fun base to spend a few days exploring Kinsale from. Also one of the best showers/water pressure of any hotel I've stayed at in Ireland!
