How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Although the room was lovely, tea and coffee facilities and a small tv in the room would have been nice, especially after a long journey. I found out once I had arrived that breakfast wasn’t until 8am. That’s the latest I could check in for my ferry. It’ll teach me to read the entire details when booking in future.
Lovely quiet location and fairly close to the ferry.

Peter and Marie received us with loads of kindness and plenty of hospitality. Their place is quiet, comfortable, clean and nicely designed and decorated. In the morning, they served a nice breakfast and we had the chance to have a lovely conversation during which they shared with us lovely information about the country and advised us on some locations to visit. It felt like being hosted by our family. We are grateful for the lovely experience and we hope that we have the chance to come back to this place in the future.

That we had to leave early next morning to catch the ferry as we had to there around 6.30-7.00am to board the ferry. This was a lovely apartment with plenty of space. What I didn't like I wasn't able to help Peter trim his vine of a tree which he was busy working on when we arrived.
We stopped at the Ocean View because of its location to the Ferry Terminal. We done a quick drive from the Ocean View to the Ferry Terminal so we could judge the distance & time to get to the ferry.

Wifi password was very difficult to read, combined with neighbours to decipher code. Should be much clearer.
Ideal stop after the ferry. Pleasant hosts, very helpful. Good communal breakfast. Lovely position, great garden with sea view. Eat at golf club just down the road recommended by hosts - very good.

Marie and Peter were very engaging and welcoming and when we requested to change our breakfast time that morning they did so without hesitation! The view from the breakfast room is stunning.

As an international traveler it is a real plus to be able to communicate with the host via Whatsap. Communication via Booking.com and email is much slower and too easy to miss a message when you are waiting for last minute information.
Peter and Mary were very welcoming and accommodating.

Everything was perfect.
Everything.The hosts were very friendly and helpful and very knowledgable.Breakfast was very nice and unhurried.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay just wish it was for longer. Peter recommended The Hook lighthouse tour which was fantastic.

Beautiful view and perfect location for the town and the ferry the next day. When we arrived Peter and his wife suggested a route across to Kerry which was well received- secure parking and tucked away from passing traffic, important for the motorcycle and luggage, thank you both !!!

Bed was so comfy. Down a quiet street. That even with windows open we slept through They face is a lift into Town in the evening Then to the castle the following morning Even picked us up Then took us to the station We wouldn’t think twice about coming back Lovely people

We had a lovely stay at this B&B just outside Wexford. The house is in a beautiful spot with great views, and the overall atmosphere was very peaceful. The hosts were kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was fresh, tasty, and just what we needed before heading out for the day. A comfortable and enjoyable stay, we’d happily return.
