Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesIt didn’t feel secure. No deadbolt on the door and it appeared that the door had been kicked in at some time. Laundry was still running in the washer when I arrived so I didn’t know who was coming back. I slept with my suitcase between the bedroom door and the bed to prevent anyone from coming in.
Spacious and the unit had a washing machine.

United KingdomThe apartment smelt so bad. We avoided the bathroom and kitchen due to this foul smell. Furniture was broken and cracked, walls were stained. Did not feel clean. Host did come and spray air freshener to help the smell but this did not help.

SpainThe room is all you can expect for the cheapest accomodation in the city centre. The problem is the management. They sent me three codes: one for the street door, one for the apartment door and one for my room. The first one didn't work. I had to send a message to the accomodation to ask for a working code and wait on the street until I got an answer. When I finally managed to get in, I found out that the other two codes were totally useless, as the apartment and the room doors didn't have panels to enter codes. You could just open them. Eventually, I wanted to go out to have some dinner, but I was afraid of leaving my baggage unprotected (there aren't lockers either). So I texted again to the accomodation to ask if it was safe to leave my stuff in the room while I was out and they replied that I could do that, but at my own risk... It may be tempting to book here to since it's cheap, but I would strongly suggest anybody to spend a couple more of euros and book somewhere else where they take security and customer treatment more seriosuly.

United KingdomThe address was wrong. The check in did not work so we gained access by waiting for another guest to go in. No one to speak to when you get in. No one answers the phone. Even when we made contact it still took an hour to sort, we wasted a lot of time. Terrible locks, they are very temperamental. Holes in the doors. We paid for a private bathroom but it was out of order so we did not get the facilities we had deliberately booked. Literally nothing in the room except 2 very wobbly bunk beds. We appreciate it was cheap accommodation but this was a terrible place, we would not recommend to anyone.
The location was excellent, close to the city centre.

United KingdomPeople who were staying there had left mouldy food, coffee thrown up the walls. I had trouble unlocking the doors. The state of outside was disgusting with old clothes, cigarettes and rubbish. Old mouldy food left in the drawers in the room I was staying in, I’m 100% certain the bed covers were not even changed given the state of the room. Was not even refunded 10% for my troubles. No air conditioning and people were cooking and banging until early hours making the house extremely humid and smelly.
Great location and value for money if you’re backpacking. Right in the centre. Cleaners came every morning to clean the bathroom

IrelandThe place was like in the photos, only that you had to climb a narrow ladder, which was somewhat difficult with the luggage and in the photos you can’t see that in the beds you could feel the springs, so we didn’t rest well
It was a very good location and we were able to communicate well with the host

UkraineThe room felt like a prison cell — no window, very stuffy, and only one small light. Even at 10 AM, it was pitch dark inside. Zero soundproofing — we could hear our neighbor snoring. Smart locks with long passwords — you can’t even go to the bathroom without your phone or you won’t be able to get back in. Extremely inconvenient. They claimed there was drinking water in the kitchen — there wasn’t. The kitchen itself was hard to find as there were no signs. The beds were terrible: metal frames that squeaked with every breath and springs in the mattress poking into your back. Check-in at 3 PM, check-out at 10 AM — not flexible at all. Our flight was in the evening, and they reminded us early in the morning that we had to leave. The bathroom had only toilet paper and leftover soap — nothing else. Very difficult to find the hotel, even with instructions. Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. We stayed for three days and I had to buy a new data package due to roaming. No help was offered and there was no warning.
The only good thing is the location. It's very central and convenient.

United KingdomConflicting information - confirmation emails and Booking.com details give different building numbers, making the property (No. 11) very confusing to find. Check-out information is given as 10am sharp in one communication, and 8 - 11am in another. No information on how to connect to Wifi, forcing me to use my data. The room was cold for a lot of my stay. One key for the entire building and room is not ideal when sharing with strangers, especially when people don't lock the main door (security risk) or put the key back in the lock box, which was inconvenient to open and shut every time I wanted to leave the premises. There was loud shouting and banging from an upstairs flat at different points of the night, disrupting my sleep and making me slightly nervous. When I tried to contact the owner, the phone went to voicemail, telling me to try again later. The bed squeaked loudly with any movement, and one slim pillow to sleep on was uncomfortable. Someone was sleeping in the bed I was assigned to when I returned from a night out, forcing me to find a spare one in the next room and further suggesting a breakdown in communication from the accommodation. I got what I paid for.
The kitchen was spacious and offered somewhere to sit when needed. Good central location.
