How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery quiet, very kind, nice and helpful owner, though he had to go to the hospital to the new born, he managed to prepare the whole house - Congratulation one more time 😁 No reception was a blessing 😁 Internet was good, Netflix Prime were flowless. No neighbours, a lot of privacy. Absolutely can recommend it.
Didnt find anything like that.

Verified reviewSo what we needed! A 2 day break away from all the noise of busy life, beautiful cottage, everything we needed was to hand, gorgeous scenery around us, a stove fire which was all set up for us when we arrived with turf and logs all we needed to do was put a match on it to light, wifi in the cottage, lovely cosy bed, we were able to bring our dog with us too which was a huge plus, the hosts are very friendly and so helpful, we thought of checking if it was available for another night but unfortunately we had commitments to get home for, however we will be going back just so relaxing and peaceful thank you Conor and Des 😁
There was nothing we didnt love about it, just absolutely perfect,

Verified reviewConor, the host. Due to sad circumstances, regarding his wife, the house wasn't as clean as usual. Even though, he had already hired a cleaning companie, that unfortunately didn't do a very good job. Because of our complaint about this, Conor offered to give us our money back and het did. That was extremely kind of him. So by now the house will again be spotless and cosy. It is very spacious and lies very private in a beautiful surroundings.

Verified reviewWell equipped cottage, comfortable bed. Fire ready for us to light on arrival. Peaceful location.
Cottage wasn't as clean as I would like. I understand it's a Cottage so expect spiders and cobwebs etc but there were surfaces that had dead insects on them like the cooker. It could be that it had been cleaned a few days prior to our arrival but maybe it should be checked over on the day of arrival.

Verified reviewGreat location, perfect for the relaxed getaway we were hoping for (loads of lovely walks near the area and further out too). Conor was very helpful and easy to reach. We were even allowed to checkout later as there was no one staying that night. We both felt very welcome and it was great to be able to bring our pup with us too. I think a few reviews said that there was no signal/WiFi but WiFi has actually been installed since then. We didn't use it for streaming or anything like that so I don't know if it would be very fast but it did the trick for what we needed. House was very warm, must be well insulated, and the stove was lovely - logs & turf were provided by the host and we were told there was more available if we needed it. Kitchen was well kitted out & we didn't feel like anything was missing. Would definitely go back if we were going down that part of the country again 😊
Thought everything was great.

Verified reviewFabulous location for peace and tranquility and nature.
Couldn't have been any better for a retreat type stay but not too far away from towns villages and tourist areas.

Verified reviewSo for a country weekend escape this could be the place you’re looking for. It’s in the countryside, it’s a lovely little cottage and the host has it well stocked up to keep you warm with the fire. Plenty of room, comfortable bed, quiet and peaceful. After arriving early evening and finding no matches to light the fire, we rang the host who apologised for his oops mistake and dropped matches over within the hour. Thanks and well done. Unfortunately we didn’t realise or read anywhere that electrical timers plus the fire (very important) make the shower water hot. This made for quite late showers and not that hot the first night. We did better the second night but as we were out being tourists and exploring and doing a lot of walking, returning and having to wait for the hot water to really kick in wasn’t ideal. If you understand this and except it’s a country experience then you’ll enjoy Pat Tadys.
Only as above, an explanation before booking about the fireplace and hot water would have been useful. Probably still would have booked as it’s a quiet, peaceful rural setting we were after.

Verified reviewI Arrived late in a rainy night, and accidentally slept in the wrong cabin. Next day when I went hiking, I got a call from the host. He called over to ask if everything was fine cause he saw that the keys were still on the same place. Luckely he didn't mind i slept in the wrong house. Such caring peolple, and a lovely stay.

Verified reviewLovely little cottage tucked away in the quiet countryside. We were very happy relaxing here beside the fire, taking the short drive to Manorhamilton and the surrounding beautiful countryside. The place is clean and cosy, the room was modern and fresh. The kitchen had all the basics for cooking for ones self. And there was plenty of fuel to keep the fire burning for a couple of days!
We thought the place was great and would stay again! But be aware that the internet coverage in the area is zero

Verified reviewLocation is fantastic, far from everything and still close to so many places worth visiting. Quietness and remoteness top of the excellent hosts were our main reasons for the second visit at Pat Tadys.
Leaving the place, would love to stay longer.
