The location in the centre of the town makes it a great base for exploring Portumna Castle, and its beautiful grounds, garden, forest park and marina. It's also close to the public beach on Lough Derg. In addition you'll get a warm welcome from owners Dick and Liz, who will sort you with places to see, things to do and local history. I'd strongly recommend hiring a bike directly from Podumna and doing a few loops of the above attractions. The terrain is quite flat, so no excuses!

First and foremost, owners Dick and Liz are what makes this place great. They were helpful with any queries we had, but more importantly, they were constantly engaging with us and other guests in non-intrusive way to make you feel welcome. On top of the owners, the location and facilities are great. While you are located in the centre of Portumna town, when you go through the gate you feel as you've entered a remote forest where you can completely detach from the external world enjoy your holidays.

Lovely spot located in the town lots of options for takeout.the staff were extremely friendly. Excellent facilities. Very clean I would highly recommend for family’s or any sort of getaway. I will def go back.

The place is an absolute treasure in the heart of Portumna ❤️ Dick , Liz and their family are the most beautiful people we have ever met so far! So friendly and welcoming... We felt as part of the family The pod is a fantastic experience for family with kids of all ages! The super fitted kitchen is a must, you can find anytime and everything you need for make yourself a delicious meal... just clean as you go 😁 Or if you are a bit lazy and don't want to have your hands dirty, just choose between all the great takeaways around the place! Then, you can enjoy the company of each other sitting around the firepit in the evening, roasting marshmallows and telling stories 🥰 Services 10/10 Places 10/10 Cleaning 10/10 Experience 10/10 We will definitely be back soon 🙌🏻😊

We didn’t have a blind on the back window and the beds weee a little hard.

We had a fantastic few days, a great experience and Liz & Dick were beyond helpful and welcoming. It is very pet friendly and we regretted not bringing our own dog.

Location in the centre of town is perfect! The pods are well spaced out so there’s privacy but you’re it’s still a lovely communal experience. The kitchen is well equipped too.

This was a wonderful stop along our trip. Location was great walking trails the castle we even got a craft fair and a festival. The owners Dick and Liz couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and their nephew Jack was always checking that we are okay and if we needed anything. Not much, its a great location.

Glamping right in the middle of Portumna might sound strange but this is a wonderfully secluded location right off the main street. Shops are nearby. Lough Derg swimming centre & the local harbour are only a short cycle away so is the Portumna Bridge & Castle. The pod are very comfortable and the facilities are excellent. Dick Ridge, your host is a lovely man and he couldn't be more helpful. Anything you need or a suggestion for something to do Dick is your man.

The location in the village is great and every thing was very clean with lots of facilities on site . The staff are very helpful and friendly.
