How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There was nothing to dislike.
We were up early to book in for a ferry departure of 8.15. There was plenty of cereals, fruits and yougurts laid out for 6.30am.

Val is a sweet, warm woman who welcomes you with open arms. You immediately feel at home. We booked this accommodation for our first night in Ireland. We'd had a long day on the ferry, but we found ourselves in such a warm and welcoming place. Breakfast the next morning was also perfect. She took dietary requirements into account. I'd love to stay here again and definitely recommend it!

Excellent exceptionally clean property. Very comfortable bed. The owners were very helpful with top tips of eating places. A real bonus was having Currucloe Hotel right next door where we had a lovely meal which wasn’t overpriced. We were leaving early to catch the boat so unfortunately we’re unable to stay for breakfast however, Val was very happy to give us an early breakfast if we wanted it.

Very charming and warm welcome. The two dogs seemed also to be excited 😉. The house is very nice and new, modern style. Our room was small but still easy enough for one night. Bathroom was clean and modern too. Breakfast was great with plenty to get from buffet and mains. Location is great as it's not far to the beach. And for dinner there are two Inn/pubs just down the road. Everytime again.

On hot days maybe a fan could be provided to the guests.
The host was very welcoming and she took the pain to explain to us the different facilities provided by the property. She also provided a brief description of the facilities available in the area such as supermarkets, restaurants, etc. Bed was very comfortable and the room had enough space tp keep luggage. Very good breakfast was provided.

Our stay was among the best we’ve ever experienced. We loved all of it!
The house is beautiful and kept in immaculate condition. Our room was exceptionally comfortable. We slept deeply and restfully each night. Breakfast was healthy and delicious and definitely worth getting up for. Our host Valerie was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. Every small detail was anticipated and made available to us. It was truly an experience of good spirits and happiness.

Were down for a barbecue for the weekend. Very friendly lady Valerie, made us feel totally at home from the start. Greeted us at the door when we arrived and made us feel most welcome. Was there at breakfast to serve the most delicious fare too. The best location and best value in Curracloe, highly recommend. Tom and Angelina from Dublin

The hosts were excellent and very welcoming. The location was absolutely ideal for Curracloe Beach (about a 5 minute drive) and right next door to a hotel/pub if you wanted an evening meal or drink. Being up on a slight hill the property enjoyed lovely views from the front. The breakfast was superb and made to order (my bacon sandwich went down a treat). The bed was comfy and there were team making facilities and free water in the room. The house was spotless and I would certainly consider staying again.
