Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We had a truly wonderful stay! Geraldine and Paul are incredibly kind and understanding hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. The apartment is beautiful, clean, well-equipped, and located in a peaceful area with stunning views. Our son Adam especially enjoyed his time here, and we are so grateful for the hosts’ warmth, patience, and empathy. We would absolutely love to come back again next year. Highly recommended – thank you again for everything!

Communication with the hosts Paul & Geraldine was very good, Paul met us at the apartment with the keys & to help us get settled in. Apartment kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need for cooking, board games available for kiddies, tourist brochures & local information. The complementary milk/bread/butter/chocolate was a nice additional touch - thank you. Apartment was warm & cosy - didn't take long to heat up, comfy bed. Quiet area overlooking a tidal estuary/beach. Free secure parking on-site. All-in-all it was a very comfortable stay.

IrelandThe only downfall I have is the three days we were there, the lift wasn’t in operation. If I was alone or only with my teenager this wouldn’t have been an issue. However, I had two young children that come with a lot of baggage. I was unable to bring my buggy up to the apartment which would’ve been of some benefit to me with an infant.
The apartment is lovely and clean with plenty of space for myself and three children. Paul and Geraldine are fantastic hosts and I knew if we needed anything they would be there. Plenty of brochures with suggestions of things to see and do. Private property with gates entrance and felt safe.

IrelandThe lift was unfortunately out of order for our stay which made for a lot of stairs to climb with luggage but it was obvious that it normally runs and it was just bad luck that it broke down over the bank holiday weekend Paul assured us that it is normally working.
The view over Lough Swilly and the Marina was beautiful the location was perfect 5 mins to Buncrana by car, 20 mins to Derry and on the Wild Atlantic way. The apartment was so comfortable it was like a home away from home. We never needed the heating, even though the weather was a bit wet, but it was only the push of a button if we did. The kids loved the Wii and the board games provided and we liked that there was a small carton of milk left for the tea as well as plenty throws to stay comfy on the couch while we watched the tides come in and out the Lough. Only advice I'd give people is to book restaurants it's a very busy part of Donegal!

IrelandNot much to be honest. The bedroom facing the road could benefit from heavy curtains to help block out the sunlight and possibly reduce traffic noise. The mattresses took a bit of getting used to as they were quite firm, but that's a personal thing.
Apartment was super, the decor was modern and it had everything you could ask for and was well stocked with sugar, milk, bread, tea, coffee, chocolate, dishwasher tablets, towels, toiletries etc. The location was perfect for exploring Donegal by car. This part of Fahan is quite upmarket and very safe, nice marina. Nearest supermarket is in nearby Buncrana. Views over Inch Island from the apartment were gorgeous and very relaxing. Thumbs up for the 3 local restaurants: Red Door, Railway Tavern and Harbour Inn, which we rotated our way through! Geraldine met us on arrival and gave us lots of great tourist information along with the restaurant recommendations, which was much appreciated 👏🏻

United KingdomThe apartment was well situated within walking distance of the Railway Tavern, with its spectacular steaks cooked on the old train engine. Paul was a very attentive host, who provided us with tea, coffee, milk, bread, cakes and cereal. The property was spotless with an array of toiletries and an endless supply of luxury towels.
