This is a lovely house. Bernie is a great host, so helpful, even loaned me a pair of crocs so I could have a dip in Lough Derg. She has thought of everything you could need even take away cups so you can make a tea or coffee and take it with you when you go out. Although it’s not advertised there’s a kitchen/dining room where you can make your meals. Bernie has supplied a wide range of breakfast foods. It was a home from home.

I was just passing through and booked Salmon Island View because local hotel prices, as a solo traveller, were extortionate. I hadn't expected such a high standard as I experienced. The welcome from Bernie was brilliant. A great tour of the facilities and plenty of information about the area. The room was very comfortable. The ensuite room included a silent fridge, some snacks and ample tea / coffee making facilities. The bed was comfortable, and the DIY breakfast has plenty of options. The offer of a paper cup to carry away a cuppa for the road was some bonus. Looking forward to returning for a couple of days to explore the beautiful area further.

We had a wonderful stay! The host was amazing – very friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our visit. The accommodation was cozy and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. A lovely bonus was the free self-service breakfast, which made mornings super easy and enjoyable. The nearby lake was beautiful and offered a great spot for walks or swimming – truly a perfect setting.

Loved it all.

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding close by. We loved it. Bernie, the host, is so warm and friendly. We stayed in a large twin bedroom with a double and single bed. The room was fitted out with a kettle, microwave, fridge, tea, coffee, biscuits, cereal, milk, oj, water. Highly recommended.

Bernie is so lovely & friendly and down to earth. I hadn't copped on that the breakfast was 'DIY' in advance of arriving - not that it mattered as this approach is easy going and laid back; as well as the well stocked kitchen, rooms are equipped with a little fridge with fresh milk, water, juice & snacks & tea / coffee. A two minute walk away is a lovely pub that serves food....and a further two minutes away is the lake. Ideal.

Bernie is a fantastic host and the facilities were amazing from fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster in room with water, juice, milk, cereal, biscuits in room to full breakfast available to help yourself too and cook yourself! Thanks a million, Dai & Eileen xxx

the room toilet was a problem flushing and the shower was a dribble but host aware and we were given the opportunity to use a vacated room to shower

Bernie was so nice. Very responsive and clear in communications before our stay. Very welcoming and friendly when we were there. Lots of thoughtful touches in how this business is run which made it feel like a lovely place to stay and made us feel comfortable and at home in the place.

Making your own breakfast was ok but the cooking space was rather small and we had to wait around until the previous person had finished.

The room was light and clean and well equipped. The view was stunning.

It was difficult to find a taxi to return to pick up my car at the wedding venue, but Bernie was very nice and offered me a lift the following morning. As a host she went above and beyond

Bernie, the host was super accommodating as we had a wedding the next day. She was helpful and friendly. Rooms were clear, well equipment and the bathrooms were clean and super spacious. The self catering breakfast was great and lots of variety to choose from.
