Could maybe do with some renovation.

I liked that you could have full use of the kitchen. The house was in a nice quiet location with a lovely view from the back of the it.

Wasn't so clear on the info that this place worked like a hostel but we booked en suite and got en suite. Bit noisy from other guests briefly but main worry was no curtains on one side of the room and even through the main curtain, a security light woke us a couple of times. Grounds 'a work in progress' might impact a longer stay?

Great kitchen, good Hostel vibe in the shared space. A few basics provided by way of tea, coffee, milk, bread and so forth was really helpful for "one nighters". Just out of town with great view of the bay. Secluded.

Lack of consideration from other guests around the use of shared bathrooms, shower facilities, and kitchen area when there are other guests entitled to use the facilities its vitalwveryone is conacious of the time spent showering and toileting. House rules and quiet time are needed. We were asked to be quiet late at night, which is absolutely understandable and something we were mindful of and happy to respect , but the same courtesy was never shown by other guests in the mornings meaning some very noisy early mornings after our late nights.

Fantastic facilities, which included continental breakfast and cooking facilities, plenty of communal sitting and dining areas. Beautiful house and location and views. The most incredible hostess in Victoria who made our stay amazing. We will definitely visit again when in West Cork.

Victoria was absolutely lovely. However checkin was weird. We were instructed that check in was 3pm and if we were any earlier we were welcome to wait outside and a staff member would let us in at 3, via a WhatsApp message. We waited around and It was 4pm when someone did actually arrive at the property to open the door. We were told the key to our room would be in the door, which it was not. So more waiting around.

Victoria was absolutely lovely. The house is lovely and the location is good.

The premises were good- an amazing conversion of a big old house, but it was let down by 2 factors 1.There was no person present to confirm the room allocation & arrangements 2.The breakfast was poor ( bread & cereal plus tea/instant coffee.

The bedding in the quad room was really worst as reviewed by other travellers before us. It was just night stay so we did not mind. The plastic inside the duvet was making to much sound, the pillow and bed were so soft that you cannot sleep unless you are very tired. The room in quad was really good.

The location, house, facilities such as free breakfast, price, view from the triple room was really great. The rooms were very spacious with clean bathroom.

No bedside tables or lamps. Window locked and unopenable when we arrived, on a very warm day. The lady who greeted us (clearly not the owner) found a fellow guest who happened to have tools in his car, and he got the window opened eventually. Only for him, we would have walked out.

Location superb. House is spacious. Breakfast haphazard, depending on how many guests have got to it before you.

It is still a work in progress with amazing potential. We would have enjoyed some more chairs in the rooms and shared spaces (indoor and out). Well priced for the location but it still needs a lot of work throughout the property and grounds to reach its potential.

It was in a stunning location, very clean and they had a light continental breakfast for guests. The beds were comfortable and great facilities in the shared kitchen. Our family room was a good size and we had really good communication from them ahead of time.

The bed in our room wasn’t the comfiest.

The house was huge and our room was spacious with its own bathroom and had everything we needed. Plenty of towels were provided for two of us even for one night. I noticed a hair dryer and iron were available in the communal area if needed. We booked last minute and check in was seamless and the host was very friendly and informative.

The grounds and views of Scartagh house are just fabulous! We had great weather but I can imagine even with rain you could see the clouds coming over and it would still look beautiful! Parking was good and we had a lovely welcome! My 2 year old just loved the grounds and it was a very relaxing place to be. Honestly, we wished we had an extra night here just to take it all in. Didn't have a chance to have a bath but the shower power was really good. Thank you ever so much, it was a brilliant start to our holiday!

The house just isn’t done, they’re clearly working on it. Our room had a jacuzzi tub in it but the jacuzzi part didn’t work. There were also exposed wires and unfinished tiles in our bathroom that were a little concerning. The bed was also super uncomfortable for us, it felt like all springs . The shared areas were great, but could use a little more cleaning, but that’s understandable since it’s hard to control.

Our room (7) was huge! It had the biggest closet I’ve ever seen, not that I needed a closet. There was lots of space for our baby to crawl around. There was a nice view in the small attached room that overlooks the water and they put curtains up around that area to keep the light out, which is great. There are a lot of shared spaces, with a big garden, kitchen, dining room, and living spaces.

As it was a multiple user facility, personal items placed in fridge were used by other guests. I have special dietary needs due to a health condition and I wasn’t able to replace items in Clonakilty shops. Another issue was with other guests not placing dirty dishes in dishwasher, leaving the kitchen a mess and used tea bags in the sink.

    Stunning location
