How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe accommodation is located in the grounds of a house with beautiful mature gardens. The apartment was lovely. Very comfortable and clean. There is an outside patio area with a scenic view. Our hosts were very friendly , helpful and made us feel extremely welcome. I would highly recommend this accommodation and we would love to return for another stay sometime. Enniskerry and surrounding area are well worth a visit. 100% satisfied.
Liked everything. No negatives.
Good morning Andy and thank you both for your most kind words. We are delighted that you decided to stay with us and that you got to enjoy Enniskerry in excellent weather. There will always be a welcome here for you! Best regards. Brendan.

The wifi could've been a bit better as it didn't work in the bedroom, but it wasn't a huge deal.
Thank you so much for your kind words and I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay here in Enniskerry. Thanks for letting me know about the Wi-Fi which I can now adjust. I trust you will enjoy the remainder of your European holiday! Best regards. Brendan.

Verified reviewA wonderful peaceful location and an owner who genuinely cared that I had a good rest and had all I needed.
The kitchen is quite small and there is no sizeable table to eat off. Did not effect me because I was alone but couples might find it a limitation if you intend to do a lot of cooking. Everything else is so good I would still recommend this property.
Thank you for your kind comments and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. There will always be a welcome for you here. Best regards. Brendan.

The accommodation was very good, bed was nice and comfy and suitable for 2 people. Great locaation, close to Powerscourt Waterfalls and Powerscourt Gardens. Enniskerry Village was just a short walk away

Verified reviewThe hosts (Brendan & Laura) were exceptionally kind and accommodating. They welcomed us as if we were family friends with a stocked fridge and clean space. Laura even drove us to the wedding venue in town! Highly recommend staying here if you want a more affordable and homey option for the area. Short walk to town and a longer walk or Taxi to Powerscourt. Thank you to Brendan and Laura!
The bed was a little hard and the hot water in the shower was a little inconsistent - but vs the positives of the location, these were relatively minor.
Good morning to you both and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us in Enniskerry. Thank you for drawing our attention to the two issues which we will attend to. It was lovely to meet you both and there will always be a welcome here for you in the future. Best regards. Brendan & Laura.

Verified reviewBrendan was an excellent host and met us when we arrived, showed us around the accommodation and recommended some lovely places to visit in the area. The property itself was amazing, clean, comfortable and in a great location. The house was also surrounded by an amazing garden with an outside area you could sit in which was really relaxing. We wish we could have stayed a few days longer as there was so much to see around Wicklow. We would recommend visiting Powerscourt Waterfall and Greystones.
There was nothing we didn't like, we would highly recommend staying here!

Verified reviewThe property is fantastic, it had everything we needed. The location is a 10/10 and Brendan, our host, was incredibly kind and full of recommendations. Brendan went out of his way to hand deliver a bottle of wine and fresh strawberries when he found out we were celebrating my partner’s 50th birthday.
The mattress didn’t quite suit us, but this is personal preference of course.
Thank you both for your most kind words and we are delighted that you enjoyed your 'special birthday' trip to Ireland. You both will be more than welcome to visit us in Enniskerry at some stage in the future and I'll point out many more things for you to do and see! Best regards. Brendan.

Verified reviewLovely semi rural location and great hosts. As a self-catering apartment, cooking and dining facilities were limited, but the setting made up for this. Close to Enniskerry shops and pub. Powerscourt estate nearby. Washing machine available to use.
No television to keep up-to-date with news.

Verified reviewThis property is self-catering, but the friendly and hospitable hosts do provide a selection of "goodies" such as chocolates, fruit, cheese, milk etc. to start one's stay. When planning the catering, guests need to be aware that the cooking facilities, benchtops, dining seating are all quite limited. The garden setting in the lovely backyard will suffice to eat when the weather permits. The location is very peaceful and quiet, yet close to the pubs and coffee shops in Enniskerry village, as well as the Powerscourt estate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We missed a television to keep up-to-date with the news.
Good day to you both and thank you for your kind words. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and you are most welcome to visit us again at some time in the future. Best regards. Brendan & Laura.

Verified reviewBrendan and Laura are fabulous hosts. They couldn't have done any more for us, they're such lovely people. The location is amazing, secluded but close to Enniskerry village for evening drinks or a lunchtime coffee. It's only about 10 minute of a walk. We attended a wedding in Powerscourt and this location was ideal. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Good morning and thank you for your very kind words. We are so happy that you enjoyed yourselves here and hopefully we will see you both again at some stage in the future. We wish you every success with your forthcoming marriage and life thereafter. Brendan and Laura.

Verified reviewIn beautiful secluded surroundings, a brilliant base for exploring Wicklow. Brendan was a fabulous host, even offering to pick us up one night from the local pub. Also provided a very thoughtful welcome pack. We loved the soda bread! Also free wifi. We will stay again next time we visit Ireland.
We liked everything but felt it would be good to warn people there is no slip mat for the shower and it is very slippy. I would have brought my own had I known. Also no tv but we quite enjoyed being away from it for a change. Fab local channel on the radio played our kind of music!
Hello Mary and thank you for taking the time to write such kind words in relation to your visit to our property. You are correct regarding the slip mat which I have corrected. You must be one happy couple with the Man City premiership title but be warned, I am completely against you for the Cup Final!!! You will always be welcome here and I look forward to meeting you both again. Best wishes. Brendan.

Verified reviewBrendan, the host, was lovely and very helpful. The reason I was staying there was because I was working in the area and due to long hours commuting would have been tricky. I slept very well.
I just saw that I was charged €45 for cleaning. This would not bother me too much if I the property was clean when I arrived. Seems like a lot of money without that service having been provided for me. I would like to know who gets that money, Booking.com or the host? I felt I could not mention this to the host as he was so nice.....
Good morning Jeanette and thank you for taking the time to post a review. I am surprised and disappointed in relation to the cleanliness aspect for the apartment was cleaned prior to your arrival. The fee is paid to us to arrange for such cleaning and I am re-doubling my efforts to maintain the stated standards of our property. Again Jeanette, thank you for your comments and best regards.
