Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCould do with a mirror in the room and a shower mat. Also, tea bags. But when we asked, we got tea bags. The stairs are quite steep, maybe mention this on the website for ones that may struggle.
The location. It was clean, staff friendly, and helpful 👌 Great water pressure and shower Unfortunately, because of the building, they are restricted to what they can do. We had everything we needed and also the use of the fridge etc. In kitchen

Czech RepublicAs mentioned in some other reviews, there's little to no sound insulation in the room so you hear a lot of noise both from outside (the train station) and inside (other rooms, water running, toilet flushing behind a drywall etc.). There's a huge gap under my door. I got quite lucky with not so noisy neighbours so I was still able to get some sleep (having a quiet noise masking sound similar to white noise playing in my room throughout the night helped too) but this might be very different story for you. Ear plugs definitely recommended (if you can sleep with them - I can't). It has one of the tiniest shower walk-ins I've ever seen (I'm quite short and skinny so I fit in just fine but bigger guys might struggle), though the shower itself is good. No mirror in the room so you have to use the shared bathroom for shaving. No elevator and quite a lot of stairs to the top rooms (wasn't really an issue for me as I was travelling light with just a backpack but heard someone panting heavily at night, trying to get their suitcase up). Also, the whole building is kind of skewed so all the floors are literally slopes - I found it quite funky rather than bad really but it's worth mentioning.
Friendly staff and it was clean. Liquid soap and shower gel provided. Kettle with some coffee in the room. The location was super handy too as I was arriving by train and it's literally 3 minute walk from there.

United KingdomWould have been better with headboard on bed and another pillow each, and maybe a few tea bags in the room when we arrived. The place was extremely clean. There was no clear indication of the address and the website was confused with The Shamrock Bar. I had looked up the location on Google maps but only found the correct address when I booked a taxi online.
Very close to train station and eventually found the best route into town.

United StatesWe arrived and had no where to park our car. This apartment was not even in the Shamrock Inn. The person that let us in the apartment literally only opened the door for us and then walked out. He did not give us WIFI instruction. We had to call him back to get the code. At that time, he asked us to scan something on his phone to get the WIFI to work. We were not sure this was legitimate so we decided not to scan it. There was some leftover food in the fridge. The shower was a portable camping heater and would go from scalding HOT to cold. We did not feel safe in this apartment.

IrelandStained sheets, very dusty, window clearly hasn't been clesned. felt unsafe as the front door was left open and a group of men sat outside eating and being very loud. Got no sleep as the doors were slamming all hours and there was no curtain on window just a very light blind that didn't keep sun out at all. Very little information was given in how to get and check in and out information. Staff were not very helpful. There was a tea service tray in room but it was missing multiple essentials such as tea bags.
