Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe breakfast is only toast, butter, jam, musli, milk and coffee. Would be good to have a bit more expensive option with better choice.
Great central location, cheapest possible price. A long narrow and curvy room, so the beds are not standing in direct sight. Each bed has a privacy drape. Bathroom in the room, external shared bathrooms are also available. Charging socket at every bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Very cheap breakfast.

IrelandI think the experience would be much better if there were more measures in place to reduce the nighttime noise, such as a curfew or at least encouraging guests to be more considerate late at night.
I stayed in a shared room with eight people. The beds were clean, and the bedding was fresh, though the beds creak quite a bit when someone moves. Each bed has a charging contact, but unfortunately, the one above mine didn’t work. The bathroom was small but clean, and soap was provided, which was nice. The biggest issue for me was the noise at night. People were coming in and out of the rooms, doors were constantly slamming, and there didn’t seem to be any kind of quiet hours enforced. Because of this, I only managed about three hours of sleep. Overall, the facilities are decent for a hostel, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, I think the experience would be much better if there were more measures in place to reduce the nighttime noise, such as a curfew or at least encouraging guests to be more considerate late at night.

IrelandBreakfast is very miserable, they only give you toast and you can grab coffee, juice, cereal. The rooms are narrow so it is uncomfortable to store your things.
The staff is very friendly, the location is perfect and the area is really quiet.

United KingdomThere weren't any hand towels or equivalent in the en-suite. I noticed that one of the lockers under the bunk beds would have been more difficult to access due to the layout of the bunk beds. The lights on the beds were quite bright.
The staff were lovely, definitely the best part of my experience. The bunk bed was comfy and sturdy, so it didn't move a lot when you or the other person turned over. Booked a room with en-suite which was great. The locker under the bed was great.

FranceThe price should include the breakfast. Too hot in the bedroom when it's full, and if someone close the velux windows. The comfort zone in front of the reception is not welcoming, it's too formal. It looks like a waiting room.

CanadaThere is a hill a block long from the city up to the Hostel location, it is certainly a good workout.
Great staff, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds with privacy curtain, charging port, plug and light in each cubicle. The staff were really friendly and offered advice on sightseeing, shopping and places to eat or have a pint in a cozy pub.

ArgentinaThe bedrooms were too small for that many amount of beds, you could barely breathe or ventilate the room properly. But on top of that, the worst part were the various groups of teenage french students. I dont know why They allow people that age to stay in hostels, they were as young as 11 years old. They couldnt behave accordingly and were really loud and smelly, constantly banging the doors and yelling at night time. I dont even blame them, I dont know what the parents, teachers or hostel owners were thinking. The kids took up all the common space areas and it was very clearly the worst part of my stay. All of the adults staying in the hostel at the same time as me found the experience unbearable aswell. It’s even unsafe for the children if some creepy adult is staying, all in all it was very unpleasant
