How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Leak in bathroom but fixed that day. Ceiling in bathroom a bit grubby.
Receptionists very friendly and helpful all three of them. Bed comfy.

Main floor room was great but blackout curtains needed as the outside motion detector lights kept going on through the night.
Breakfast okay. Location excellent and staff wonderful and helpful. We needed a fridge to keep medication in and one was provided very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble.

Rooms are very small but clean. No air conditioning and a timed fan in the room meant we were quite warm at times. The stair access can also be bit of an issues if your travelling with large cases like us as the lift doesn’t access all floors but this seemed to happen a bit in Ireland.
Great property in the heart of Dublin, everything within reasonable walking distance.

We had a room at the bottom level, which was very spacious, but a bit dark.
Great location, staff was very accommodating and personable, especially Helen who helped us with an early check-in. Beautifully appointed and a very comfortable stay. Highly recommend.

The property was really well situated in the city. Easy to get around. Very comfortable. Staff were friendly. The facilities were great. Comfy bed and clean bathroom. I would stay here again.

There is a lift, but it doesn't go to every floor. A minor inconvenience when lugging baggage. Breakfast was unremarkable. If it's not included in your booking, we recommend trying one of the breakfast restaurants in the neighborhood.
Great old house converted to hotel. Wonderful location - lots of history, good restaurants, pubs, shops. Convenient to Luas tram and busses. Friendly, helpful staff. We had a front-facing room which was surprisingly quiet at night (little street noise).

Room No 05 was very clean and comfortable but the access to the lower rooms is a bit dreary
The location was perfect as I had an appointment at the Mater Private and Hotel St. George is also very close to the City Centre.

Windows could only open a little, so made the rooms unbearably hot in the heat. Lack ventilation. The fan provided wasn’t sufficient. Breakfast choice was ok ish but could improve on the pastries and the hot section eg more egg choices.
Very central location and access to many buses. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Willing to help.

A couple of small things that could be improved: there was no wardrobe in the room, so we didn’t have much space to unpack, especially with three people sharing. Only a few hangers were provided. Also, there was no toilet brush in the bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall though, we had a really pleasant stay. It’s a great base for exploring Dublin!
We stayed here for three nights during our trip to Dublin and really enjoyed it. The location is just perfect – super close to all the main sights and right next to a bus stop. We even got straight from the airport to the hotel by bus, which was super convenient. The staff were lovely – very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The place was always clean, and our room was tidied up every day, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was tasty – not a huge variety, but it was fresh and filling. Just something to keep in mind if you're planning a longer stay, as it’s the same each day.

The location is handy for the city centre but there was an incident on the street outside. Nothing g to do with the hotel just umfortumate.
Staff were lovely. Room was a great size. Good value for money. Hotel was spotless.
