Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Location was two miles out of town, which isn't a major issue unless you're hitting the pubs hard, in which case you might want to stay at a B&B in town.
Beautiful home and very comfortable and very quiet.

Beautiful apartment situated in a beautiful area of Donegal. Perfect for exploring the Fanad and Inishowen peninsulas. Highly recommended.

There was no external light over the entrance...very dark to find door code pad. Lights were hard to find in kitchen area.

From our reading of previous reviews, we gained the impression that the apartment was within walking distance (~1km) from Ramelton; however, it was ~3 kms from the village, making it difficult to walk to Ramelton along a narrowish lane with no footpath. Also, despite fine weather, we were cold, especially in the mornings. The thermostat placement consistently indicated that it was 25°+; the heating was set to come on if the temp fell to 20°. There is no carpet in the apartment, only marble-like tiles. We had a problem locating the apartment as no signage on gate.
It was indeed a beautiful and spacious apartment in a lovely setting - bedding comfortable and warm, good kitchen facilities, wifi, only streaming services available. Owner responsive at all times. Lovely village.

A car isn't a luxury, so much to see and do but I didn't have a car and that limited my range

Water pressure was a bit low when showering but plus points made up for this!

I couldnt use my shower as water was too hot no matter how i tried to turn down! I tried phoning the owner but no reply to my message!

The apartment was not as clean as it was last year especially the trap door in the lounge/kitchen area
The location is ok although the road into Ramelton is quite scary with the large Tractors travelling at high speed

I was not unhappy with anything, but would have loved to be in a position to stay longer.
Breakfast did not apply as we were self catering. The location was super, just a few minutes away from the local town. The setting was lovely and the place was quiet, and provided everything to suit our needs. I loved the pieces of art, and the info provided regarding the house and local amenities. Couldn't have been better. I would certainly love to stay there again, and would recommend it to my friends.

That I couldn’t stay longer
Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Consideration given to every detail, very comfortable beds, excellent shower, well stocked kitchen. Janet was very accommodating and helpful. Will definitely return to this stunning flat in beautiful Donegal

Beautiful apartment in a gorgeous part of County Donegal. Stunning decor and the host could not have been more helpful. She is also a very talented artist which came through in the art and pieces on display around the apartment, which added to the whole experience. Very peaceful and relaxing in comfort, and the apartment was very well equipped.

Nothing really apart from the small matter of the tv
A very clean & well organised apartment with everything that anyone would require. Good value for money, nice location. Just a very small negative the TV did not work properly despite the ladies Son setting it up up for us. The wireless system kept dropping out (Not a big deal as we were out most of the time)

I just want to say that this place is incredible, impeccable service, an extremely smelling house, organized, with all the necessary utensils! We felt very safe and supported having the owners just below, a safe place! The apartment is very cozy, you have hot water all the time! Simply a beautiful place, not to mention super attentive Janet showing us places to visit! The care for the house is so great that it has the numbers and names of all the hospitals, firefighters, police! Really a lovely place! I recommend!
