Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The Host was very welcoming, cooked us delicious breakfasts and also allowed us to make use of the dining room to prepare or bring and have our other meals in there, also to leave our ingredients in the fridge. The Location was a perfect to relax after our days outings, and close enough to walk into the village to collect provisions or pick up take away & or have a meal at the local pub. I highly recommend Tess's Guesthouse and give a score of 10 out of 10. Cath - Australia

All was good. To note - the room we stayed at has small windows above doors to the corridor- so you see the light from corridor and bathroom at night. So if very light sleeper beware.
The room was comfortable, breakfast tasty and the owners friendly. There is also a lovely garden and snacks and tea available.

Nothing, we enjoyed our stay.
Tess' Guest House was perfect for our short stay. We drove back into Kilkenny for dinner as there are few dinner options in the village itself, so this is a consideration for your visit. Tess was very accommodating and provided us breakfast early for our early start which was much appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the home was very clean. Our stay with Tess was toward the end of our trip and by then had become accustomed to very small rooms and bathrooms and this is no exception, but we have come to realise that this is normal in this part of the world! A great place to stay for a comfy bed, a warm welcome and a great breakfast. We also appreciated that Tess provides guest tea and coffee and a place for guests to sit, we found in other guest houses, they often had a guest lounge but no facilities, so her offering is above the rest in this regard.

Small ensuite but adequate.
Lovely quaint B&B in a quiet rural area, easy to find. Tess was lovely and made us feel very welcome in her home. Great pizza place in the village for an easy dinner.

It is small.

The location means that you have to drive some way to get dinner as the only eatery that was open in Freshford was a take-away fried food shop.
The room we had was very comfortable with a king sized bed and good quality linen. It was clean and had everything you needed including toiletries and tea and coffee making. The breakfast was excellent.

Parking is a little tight but, parking in Ireland is a premium!
Friendly, warm and accommodating people. Beautiful house and furnishings, very comfortable. Breakfast was great, a lot of options. Great value. Highly recommend!

The property was immaculate and our hosts were very friendly. The bedroom was small but well maintained and warm. The cooked breakfast was very good and I would recommend this to anyone staying in this area.

Tess's was lovely and cosy, the room was very nicely decorated, everything was neat, clean, and totally functional. The bathroom had a very nice hot shower, the bed was lovely and comfy, and Tess herself was a gem. 10/10 I'd stay here again.

A very comfortable and spacious ensuited room. Extremely comfortable large bed. Tea and coffee facilities available in the room as well as in the breakfast room. Self serve buffet breakfast as well as a full cooked breakfast option.There were a couple of local options for take out meals for arrival on our first night and we were invited to use the breakfast room for dining. Tess was a good communicator and made us feel very welcome in her lovely home. Our privacy was valued. Offered the option to have our room / towels refreshed after 2 nights. Access to room, 1 flight of carpeted stairs. On site parking. Great quiet homely stay about 20 mins drive to Kilkenny Castle.

Tess is a wonderful lady that makes you feel at home! The area is really quiet, within car distance from Killarney. The room is spacious, cozy and warm, with a wonderful skylight. The breakfast is home made and delicious, with a lot of cure and attention

Tess is an amazing host! We had an incredible stay at her guesthouse with the comfiest beds and a delicious Irish breakfast in the morning. We would definitely stay here again!
