How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Uncomfortable and the sheets are not clean even if they are washed but it is not suitable for a hostel. There is not even a place to eat or cook. There is not even a microwave. I suggest that you address the shortcomings.

Room is falling apart, very uncomfortable spring mattress, the fluorescent light made the room look like a prison cell. The hostel is adjacent to a busy pizza shop and the workers there were shouting and laughing till closing time. You can hear everything in the room. No consideration for guests. Absolutely overpriced for what it is---- pick another place, you won't get any sleep in this one.

Verified reviewLook the location is undeniable. You are in the heart of the city and near the luas and various cafes, pubs and restaurants. We stayed here the night of Oasis and were just looking for a bed to sleep and a roof over our heads. You get a 30% discount off apache which is a nice touch.
There should be a door between the kitchen of apache and the hallway/reception upon entry. The single bunker room was decent- the room itself could do with a deep clean- the mattresses are yellow. The bunker room in 6 bed mixed dorm- are what are they are described as- the people we stayed with were all coming from the same convert so we had a great laugh. I’ve stayed in many many hostels, this one unfortunately is just a last resort. I don’t believe the price we paid matches the extreme basicness of this hostel ie. There is no kitchen area, meeting area for guests/lounge area: whiles other hostels in similar price range give or take a few quid, do.

Verified reviewOnly thing I liked about the property was when I left my keys at reception and walked out the main entrance at the end.
Too many items to mention. wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. Prisoner of war camp springs to mind. To very quickly summarise, my friend set foot in the property for all of 2 seconds before having to walk out. His room had no windows and ventilation, smell was atrocious. Trip hazards making me way up to the top floor where I was located. Never seen such bodged decor in all of my life (takes cowboy builder to a whole new level). Place was rather untidy messy and the guy working on the front desk couldn't be anymore unhelpful if he tried. Made a booking for 2 of us, put in separate rooms, requested whether we could be put in the same (stated these had already been taken) at 10pm still no sign of the other people, so we raised it again, Just stated "it is what it is". Never stay in this place you will regret it for the rest of your life.

Verified reviewLocation.. that’s it
This is single handedly the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The room I was given had no window or ventilation. The complex was practically falling apart and it lacked basic amenities like a plug socket for the upper bunks. Walked out after 5 minutes and booked other accommodation.

Verified reviewLocation was good
This place is attached to a pizza joint and the delivery riders use the hostel's entrance: the bell kept ringing until 5am and they talk/greet each other really loud. It was especially loud after a guest left at 3am and left each and every door behind them swung wide open between the room and the pizza joint. I was tired enough to sleep through most of jt but others i was travelling with booked a hotel after that. On top of that the room i was in had a street artist camping there and he would use the middle of the night to make sketches and drawings next to a very bright flashlight. When another guest asked him to turn it off he got hostile and woke more people up (including me) with his loud response. Furthermore i was a bit surprised when a member of the staff at the pizza place took his smug pleasure in being exceptionally rude and unhelpful to me.

Verified reviewAt first I was a little scared when i saw that it's hotel at the back of Pizza place, but then i falled in love. It was very quiet, very clean. There was plenty of toilets so there was no problem with that matter even in 8 people dorm where i was staying. They have even a fridge, kettle and things like that available for everyone. Great localization, you have 24h/7 opened spar across the street and you are basicly on Temple Bar. Every place worth visiting is in the maximal distance of 20 minutes walking. It is really cheap compared to localization and similar places nearby. Great experience to stay at Apache, definetly will stay there one more time!
