Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe place was not very clean. I had to clean many things myself before I could use them, such as the shower, plates, and cups. Cleaning supplies were available, so I used what was provided at the property.
I liked the location. It was close to a few options for take-away or dining in. I loved the fact that I was able to travel with my dog. Parking space was available. In general, everything I needed was provided: instant coffee, plates, cups, a microwave, a kettle, etc. The bed was comfy enough, and it was very quiet after 11 pm. I also loved the spot where I could sit outside and listen to live music from the nearby pub. The contact with the owner was very prompt. He answered all my questions and informed me about every step. Thank you for that!

United KingdomThe fact that we don’t own it!
We loved the authenticity of the setting and the fact that the owners were endlessly patient with us during the stay. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were super comfortable. The barn is very close to all Ardara has to offer. Pat at the Beehive Pub was a very welcome host. It didn’t take long to meander back to the barn after our evening jaunts.

IrelandI couldn’t fault this place.
The barn is a great place to stay and although you are in the town you weren’t disturbed by any noise. It has a well equipped kitchen. A lovely fire stove. 2 lovely bedrooms upstairs and a shower room. Access to a front garden and off street parking.

IrelandHonestly there was nothing except it took me quite a while to climb the stairs, not so fit!
The hosts Joseph & Celine with little Amber greeted us but did not intrude, There was a heat wave & the downstairs was so beautifully cool & welcoming. We had everything we needed & more. Situation fantastic, right on the edge of town but quiet at night, Wonderful privacy. The big garden with swing & garden furniture were all used with delight. We stayed an extra night as it happened to be free & we were thrilled. Our two little dogs felt so at home. Joseph even filled up some gaps in the hedge so as we could laze & know the doggies were safe. What wonderful countryside. We went on planned walkways every day. We didn't bother driving to any of the lovely beaches as we know the area quite well. Ardara is a picture post card & the locals we dealt with were sound Donegal folk...the best. We celebrated with rest of family who were staying in Woodhill House, two fantastic nights with top service. Great memories.. better that any trip abroad. Thanks Joseph from the Morris family

IrelandUpstairs gets very warm which isnt a bad thing but could only turn off radiator in master room so I would advise to use fire downstairs & turning on radiators for 15/30 mins to warm up upstairs is all that is needed . In summer you wouldnt need at all. It was cold weekend and house was super warm. So not a bad point but just to note to have upstairs comfortable in evening dont use heating for a long spell-use the fire & heating on a short burst. One firelog is sufficient for an eve or you could purchase a small bail of briquettes from local centra supermarket. Also 2 garages on either outskirts of town where you can purchase. All cleaning products provided bar a mop which you might like if you have children , I advise bringing kitchen roll/ floor wipes for spills if so. Tv works off aerial so reception was interrupted. This was non issue for us as only was put on for weather report but if want to watch a movie or something bring a chromecast or tablet device & preloaded things to watch. Couldnt complain at all. A fab little retreat in a cute cottage in a very lovely village.
So cosy! .Good heating & enclosed stove for a fire in eve. All practical things provided in kitchen . Privacy as off main road but with the practicality of being in the town & not noisy at night despite being stones throw from local bars. . Great shower. Quaint decor , really clean , comfortable rooms nicely decorated . Proper cottage feel with comfort of mod cons. Master bedroom has good space & extra bed. Easily fit 3 people here & 2 in spare room if needed. Wifi excellent. Energy saving switches for appliances. Everything you need for a small group or short stay. Host very responsive if you need him for anything & had fire on for us arriving night one which was a welcoming touch. Ideal location. Great little village . Plenty bars, gastrobars, cafes, take aways in addition to hair & beauty salons if needed & nice gift shops to suit all budgets. Friendly locals & really easy going. A relaxed break even with a nice busy ambiance for a small village close to beautiful beaches , hill walks & a good location as a base if you wanted to go further afield to other attractions such as Slieve league cliffs. Live music at night in some bars also which was very good. Local whiskey distillery tour walking distance also if of interest.

This was a wonderful place to stay! Right in the village but in a secluded spot with parking. Pet friendly which was great for our dogs Toto & Dotty . Joseph is a fantastic host . He was very responsive and had the stove lit on arrival which was so nice as we arrived quite late. The heating has a boost switch which activates the radiator almost instantly! There was piping hot water all the time too . The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were super comfy. The house is very spacious and very cosy.
