Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBed numbers could have been on the lockers too. I felt that being on the top bunk I shouldn’t have been left with a locker right at the bottom bunk persons face. Due to the small space between bunks I felt like my face was only 30cm away from the bottom bunk person whenever I needed to access my bag.
Really nice hostel. Plenty of space to sit and plenty of room in the kitchen for more than one person to cook at a time. Comfy beds with individual power sockets and light. Great breakfast too! Right in town too. Lots of parking (free car park is very full during the day), even if it is the car park that’s a few minutes walk away that you have to pay for.

United StatesIt’s extremely loud. Like, there’s basically no chance of you sleeping past 7-8am. Things I experienced while there: A guest with a mental illness came into our room and started waking people up (whom she did not know) to ask for coffee The residents above us seemed to be performing a ballet on the words creakiest floor Extremely loud snoring guests Dogs barking downstairs None of this is the fault of the staff or the hotel, but it’s definitely not a place to stay to relax and catch up on sleep.
Amazing staff, very cool location, there’s a pack of weiner dogs!! I loved it here and I’ll be back. Like any good hostel, I made friends who I ended up exploring the town with. They really encourage you to meet people, which I did!

AustraliaEverything was excellent, only downside for me which is not actually the hostels fault was that I left a jacket on my bed and sent a message the next morning and unfortunately it wasn't found but again not the hostels responsibility.
Great hostel, beds have curtains and lamp and connection point. Free breakfast with cereal, bread, fruit, tea coffee. Facilities if you want to cook etc.

IrelandRooms were very hot during the Irish heatwave. I know it’s inevitable but would have been great to have had a fan in the room to move air around.
very convenient location between Killarney town and the National Park (about a 5 minutes walk each way), friendly staff, home-y vibes, and decent breakfast.

United KingdomBring ear plugs! There is no age limit at this hostel so I had lots of older men snoring in my room.
I loved this hostel. It feels more like a communal living space than a hostel. I think what makes it so great is that the type of people visiting are there to enjoy nature etc, rather than your typical partying hostel crowd. The back garden is heaven.

United StatesThis is the best hostel I've EVER been to and I'm an avid hostel goer. The cuteness, the beautiful garden, the greenhouse hang out space, the fresh chicken eggs, the people, how they book your tours and do your laundry, the open mic, the board with adventure suggestions, the bike rentals, like I literally never wanted to leave. I will definitely come back here many times!!!

NetherlandsIf I do have to mention something, which I honestly don't want, is that the charging was very slow. We had to put phone in charging in night, to make sure it was full. Also in the cosy livingroom wifi was not really working. So that might be something to work on, but I'd rather not mention it, cause the stay was awesome !
This hostel really is the best! You will feel right at home. We sat in the livingroom and they put on the fire, drank a tea. Beds are SUPER comfortable. Loved the people who work there. All very kind. For me personally I felt so happy because of the 4 dogs they have. Love it. Would recommend this hostel to everyone who travels Killarney.
