United KingdomThere were a few things that took away from the overall comfort. The room itself was clean but felt hot and stuffy, especially at night—there’s no air conditioning, so we had to keep the window open, which unfortunately let in a fair bit of noise. On several nights, we were woken by the sound of doors slamming in the corridors. The shower was another frustration: the water temperature kept swinging from warm to very hot and was hard to keep steady. Bath towels were surprisingly small for a hotel of this standard, which made them a bit impractical. It’s also worth noting there’s no lift, so if you’re on an upper floor or have heavy bags, be prepared for stairs. For us it wasn’t a big problem, but I can see it being an issue for others. Overall, the hotel has great staff and a good breakfast, but with a few updates—better ventilation, improved soundproofing, and some attention to the bathroom setup—it could easily be a four or five-star experience.
My partner and I stayed at the Brandon House Hotel in New Ross for six nights. There’s no denying the welcome here is warm—every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care that we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast each morning was excellent, with plenty of choice and great quality produce. The bar and restaurant areas had a nice atmosphere in the evenings, and the location was ideal for exploring the area.

Just add an extra hour +20 euros, and you won't have to bother the guests. At 8:00 a.m. the cleaning lady came into the room and turned on the light. But when she saw that we were sleeping she ran away. No one even considered it necessary to apologize for this. It was the first and last time...
