Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesStaff were great. Great reception area and bar. Ideally located for centre of dublin. Room was clean and spacious, with no complaints. If at the hotel bar, try the barmans Bloody Mary and the Secret sauce.

United StatesThe location is good if you want to be in the heart of Temple Bar, but it is very loud well into the early morning. Also, room was a bit small for a deluxe.
The hotel is cozy and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The bar and restaurant are excellent. The area is full of life and excitement if you don't mind late night noise.

United KingdomGreat location; very handy for Temple bar. Staff were fantastic! We checked in early and dropped off our bags. When we came back our bags had been brought to the rooms for us. They acknowledged my special reason for the stay which was a lovely touch.

United StatesThe apartments are dated and warm with no air conditioning, even though it was not hot outside. If you open window, you hear street noises.
I like the lobby bar and its location.

United KingdomDon't think housekeeping did a proper job of checking things before our arrival. Handheld shower missing on the bath which we only realised when we put the taps on!! Situation was resolved very quickly once we reported it. On the plus side, there were plenty of towels to mop up the water.
Walking distance to all the places we wanted to visit - Trinity College, Dublin Castel, St Stephen's Green. Right on the edge of Temple Bar and we were not disturbed by any noise.

Netherlandsthe bath tub was rather old and invited to showering only. but with a curtain hanging loose , a curtain that was sucked in because of the powerful water / air draft was a little unpleasant. a small glass screen op top of the bath would be much better .. we solved it with two shoelaces between door and cabinet, keeping the curtain on tis place.
Friendly hotel large rooms upper floors quiet for the area

FranceMy room was just a bit small for the price but I guess it is Dublin everything is so expensive in this town. 😅
Loved my stay at The Clarence. I had a nice room with a view on the river on my request. The staff is super friendly and nice. And I had a king size bed. And the location is amazing in the center close to temple bar district but just one minute away so we escape the noise. And I loved the nice lobby and bar to have a last drink and relax before bed after being busy tourism all day. 😁

United StatesNot worth the money.
It was better than nothing. It was comfortable and had a bathtub. I was canceled without notice from Private Room in Dublin on a Saturday night with a concert going on. Dublin was all booked, so I got an email saying I could stay in the Clarence. The price was obscene but it was that or staying on the street. The good thing was the location.

United StatesWe felt the Clarence was a bit overpriced.
The Clarence is conveniently located. As we were in a rental car, it was nice to have a 24-hour car park within blocks. There are also numerous food and drink options nearby, but beware of overpriced tourist traps. The room was very clean and comfortable with a nice view of the River Liffey. The lounge in the lobby was quite comfortable.

CanadaThe room we had was a little tired looking I know they have refurbished rooms but did not want to spend the extra money.
The staff especially (Jose) were amazing. The bar in the lobby was great and the location could not have been any better we walked to Steven’s Green, Grafton street, Guinness Storehouse, Jamesons and we’re in Temple Bar district so had access to all of that as well.
