Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandWe had the best time here! I stayed with 5 friends and we had such a fantastic experience. The hosts could not have been nicer and thought of everything, from the lovely breakfast left in the lodge to the robes and slippers, they even left in a speaker for us to use to play some music and a projector to watch movies! It was the perfect relaxing weekend away and walking distance to the Glendalough trails and a nearby pub. It was a fantastic weekend, the lodge was so beautiful, clean and comfortable. It was perfect and we had plenty of space for 6 of us. We can’t wait to stay again, thank you so much again!!!

IrelandNothing . We couldn’t fault anything
Breakfast was perfect for us . We did a Quest Adventure race so the granola, berries, yogurt, orange juice , brown bread and eggs were much appreciated. The location is so peaceful and the plunge pool and sauna were a bonus with friends . We also enjoyed the privacy of our own hot tub. Absolutely an amazing place. Peter who welcomed us and showed us around was extremely helpful and polite.

United KingdomNothing I didn’t like - if nit picking I’d suggest maybe a sheet of instructions on how to use the heating/tv/oven/dishwasher, a few hooks outside cottage to hang towels/bathrobes on while in the hot tub and a mop to clear up after wet people rushing inside afterwards!
Amazing self catering cottage in a beautiful part of Wicklow. Tastefully decorated and well equipped, with some lovely touches - the quirky lighting, welcome food hamper and Voya pillow spray to name a few. Super comfy beds, crisp white bed linen and fluffy towels. Flip flops and extra towels were provided for sauna/hot tub use. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

IrelandNothing, loved everything!
Lovely little place to getaway to, everything is thought of from pillow sprays to a fire to chill by in the evening. Plenty of facilities to cook and eat in the house. Hot tub, robes and slippers were excellent and even offered a yoga class on Saturday! The pizzas and breakfast hampers were a lovely touch also.

This place is magical. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, our Hut beautiful, the hot tub amazing. We enjoyed our stay and really were able to relax. The surroundings are impressive, you can encounter deers at the ground of the hideaway, the soda bread for breakfast was delicious, the bed mega comfy and the hot tub a dream. Sauna and pool also really great! Angela and Suphie are really gems and were super responsive and kind and sooo friendly, thank you both so much for making our stay so wonderful.

IrelandWe loved everything. The only thing that was missing for us was somewhere to dry our wet clothing after using the facilities.
Absolutely fabulous stay from start to finish. The lodge was perfect for our family of 5 and the standard of the finish was superb. The on site facilities were excellent and we couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. The breakfast hamper was delicious, as was Angela’s pizza. We’ll definitely be back.

IrelandWe loved everything!👌
This was a very special trip away with my family and we are so delighted that we found the beautiful Deerstone Luxury Eco Hideaway! 🦋👌🧡 We had a very relaxing and enjoyable few days there and everything was just perfect! 🤩 Angela gave us such a lovely warm welcome when we arrived last Friday and showed us to Elm Cottage. We felt immediately at home and full of excitement and joy to be together in this idyllic setting. The hot tub went down a treat, as did the fabulous cosy bedrooms and wonderful kitchen/dining and sitting room. It exceeded our expectations and we had the best time making new memories together before going our separate ways on Monday. 💕

IrelandThere was nothing we did not like during our stay.
We loved everything about our stay, it was very clean and comfortable, we had our own hottub outside the door and bbq. The kids loved seeing the mammy and baby deer and being able to feed them. Location was great and you just feel at one with nature. A beautiful place that I will definitely return to.

United KingdomHaving to pay an extra 25 euros for using hot tub on second night came as a surprise.
Friendly staff. Peace and quiet and surrounded by nature including grazing deer on the neighbouring hill. Wonderful massage with Willow. She is just such a special and talented massage therapist. It was such a soothing and rejuvenating experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Willow.

United KingdomWe completely loved our two night stay here! So beautifully and thoughtfully designed, in absolutely gorgeous surroundings. Such thoughtful touches around the whole site - like the beauty of the landscaping, the barn area with communal seating, a woodfire and vases filled with freshly cut wildflowers each day. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, happy to give advice on things to do and so easy to ask for whatever we needed. We really can’t recommend it highly enough.

IrelandThere were a couple of niggles- the panel heater on the wall wasn't working, but they had a plug-in back-up. It's hard to rate a place like this on value-the price was pretty much luxury hotel level, and I think the huts are a little pricy for what they are-basically self-catering units in the countryside-but the surroundings and the facilities do put it at the top end of this market. I suppose the real test is would I go again, and the answer is a definite "yes".
Firstly, the location: this is gorgeous as one would expect in this part of Ireland. But although the feel is pure country, the village with pubs, shop, cafe, etc. is minutes walk away and Glendalough is also within walking distance. Words like "eco" and "nature" can mean a lot of things, not all good, when linked with accommodation and I made this booking with a little trepidation, but I needn't have worried. Deerstone is a mix of chalet-type family-size accommodation and glamping in shepherds hut-style units. We were in the latter, and definitely the best of the type we've experienced in Europe: reasonably spacious, comfortable bed, fridge, decent cooking facilities and a usable shower/toilet arrangement. There are quite a few nice touches-dressing gowns, slippers, and so-on. Outside there is an electric barbecue, and, star of the show, a wood-fired hot tub for two. The grounds are beautiful, and dotted with extras- an exercise pool, saunas with cold plunge tubs, etc. Communications before arriving were excellent and our pre-ordered pizza was a treat after a long day's travel, as were the breakfast provisions.
