How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe 24/7 reception was very convenient, and the location is excellent - right in the heart of the city.
The hotel was not very comfortable. Unfortunately, the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in (and I’m not usually picky about beds) — it felt like nothing but springs, and I would wake up at night because of it. My room was on the third floor, but there was no elevator, which made access a bit inconvenient. Upon arrival, the bathroom was not properly cleaned, as there was hair in the sink. Housekeeping could also be improved: while they made the bed, the cushions and bed runner were left on the floor.

Verified reviewI know Dublin is an expensive city and reasonably priced hotels are in short supply, but i wasn't quite prepared how very little 100 Euros gets you. I couldn't fault the staff, and there were tea and coffee making facilities and an iron in the room that was tolerably clean....
...however, the room itself was extremely tatty, with broken and damaged furniture, a saggy bed and forlorn looking curtains, giving an overall impression of neither being well loved nor well cared for, which was rather depressing. I'm sure margins are tight for the hotel industry, but I'd rather pay more than stay in a place that made me feel a little sad and uneasy. My expectations were not particularly high as I saw how much it cost to stay in the main chain hotels, but surely it's not too much to expect a better standard than this.

Verified reviewGreat place if looking for affordable accomodation. Right in the city center: corner of Purnell/ O'Connell street that is the main one. Bus/tram stations nearby aswell as train station too. Lots ot shops/pubs. The hotel on the 2nd level -1st one occupied by rock bar/pub/shops. Easy polite check-in, TV, toiletries, towels, comfy bed, hairdryer, iron and view to main street. Small kitchenette with el.kettle, mugs and some coffee. We really enjoyed our stay, do recommend.

Verified reviewThe hotel located in the City Center which leads to easy commute. The staff was really nice as they always there to hear our concerns and solve them as quickly as possible. The rooms are good but with very basic amenities.
There are lot of noise in the night time from 9:00pm to 15:00 due to the nighclub which was located just below to the hotel. This was the greatest negative point as it spoiled our sleep time. But, the staff was really nice to change our room to the third floor which leads to really low noise and was able to sleep properly.
Dear Bijay, Thank you for your lovely review of our property, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the kind words about the staff, we always strive to do our best for our guests. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Dilki Reception team

Verified reviewThe location is great. Perpendicular to the main street, O'Connell. The bed is comfy. Concierge available 24h.
The place didn't seem very clean. The bed and towels are changed and cleaned everyday if asked, but the facilities need a good scrub. The room and furniture look old and not very well maintained. The pictures were quite deceiving. The room was very hot and as my only window was giving on the roof, I didn't want to open it. There's a fan at your disposal but mine was old and loud, so I did not use it for long. Please note that the place is awfully loud during the weekend at night. It's true the hotel informs in advance of the bar downstairs, but in this case, my whole room floor and bed was shaking until 2AM. If you are good to party, join the bar downstairs, the music is good. If you are planning to have a good night and wake up early to visit, forget about this place.

Verified review- Prime location - Friendly 24/7 staffing - Good pricing - Even though the property is above 2 nightclubs, and there is some expected noise, it was not to the point where you were disturbed - Clean room/facilities
If you are after a place to stay where there is no noise in the evening this is probably not the property for you, but with that said, the noise from the clubs below did not disturb our sleep/relaxation at all
Dear Priscilla, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We apologize for the issue you had with the noise, had you mentioned it to our night staff he would have asked the people to be a bit quieter. With regards to the drains and the fittings these have since been resolved. If you will visit us again, we hope you will give us another try and see for yourself the improvements that have been made. If you will be in Dublin again, please give us another try, and we are sure you will not encounter issues like mentioned above. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
