We are sorry to hear that you found the town quieter than expected. Killaloe and Ballina offer a more peaceful, scenic atmosphere, which many of our guests appreciate for relaxation. However, we do understand that some visitors may be looking for more to do. There are a number of lovely attractions and activities in the surrounding area, and our reception team would be more than happy to recommend options during your stay. It is a pity that you missed dinner in O'Brien's Bar and Restaurant with us, but we hope you enjoyed your meal in Limerick. We are also pleased you had the chance to experience the Killaloe River Cruise, even if the weather was not entirely on your side! As an older building, we take great care to maintain the charm and character that many of our guests appreciate. However, we understand that this can mean some areas feel dated, and we appreciate your honest comments regarding the need for refurbishment. Due to the age of the building, we are unfortunately not a fully accessible hotel, but we are committed to doing what we can to accommodate all guests comfortably. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful location in Killaloe, the food in O'Brien's Bar and Restaurant, and the homely atmosphere of the hotel. However, we are very sorry to learn of your experience during check-in. We understand how frustrating this must have been and we sincerely apologise if you felt the interaction was not handled with the courtesy and professionalism you expected. To clarify, we have only three pet-friendly rooms on the property, and unfortunately, the Classic Double room that was booked is not one of these. If this was not clearly communicated during your phone conversation with us, we do apologise. Nevertheless, we did allow you to stay with your pet in the room booked. In such cases, we would normally advise guests to modify their booking to one of our designated pet-friendly rooms to ensure the best experience for both the guest and their pet. Please also note that following your stay, the room required a thorough deep clean in line with our hygiene standards for pet stays. We take great care to ensure all rooms are fresh and welcoming for every guest. We appreciate your feedback and will address this matter internally to improve communication and guest experience. We completely understand that your visit was under difficult circumstances, and we hope you found some comfort during your time with us. We are sorry to hear that you were unable to find a table in the bar at 10:00 PM. It can become quite busy at certain times, and we understand this may have been disappointing. For future visits, please do note that we also have additional seating available in the Library, which offers a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere for drinks.
