Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaI would highly recommend staying at The Lighthouse Dingle. The owner, Dermot was amazing, he gave us so much information about the local area, restaurants and even helped us booking a golf course - nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were great and breakfast simple but lovely. Great coffee machine. The only thing you need to be aware of is it is located outside of town, about a 10 min walk but it is mostly uphill. If your fitness isn’t at a reasonable level I’d suggest staying closer to town. We however, loved the walk and view so it wasn’t an issue at all. Thanks Dermot, you were the ultimate host!

Dermot and his Son Jack were so helpful and attentive that nothing was too much trouble, including lifts to an event and allowing us to use the charger for our electric car. The house itself is spotless, in a great location within easy walking distance to the town, and has the best view of Dingle Bay. We plan on doing the ring of Kerry next year and a stay in the Lighthouse in definitely on the books. Well done, Dermot and Jack your doing a grand job.

United KingdomDingle has some of the most beautiful views but sadly we were given a rear room with a velux rooflight & the only view we had after climbing 2 steps to see out was that of a building site! The rain hitting on the velux was very loud & disturbed our sleep, as did the extremely loud international guests next door who proceeded to move between rooms across the landing frequently at night & shouted at each other rather than talking. At 11.30pm on the first night we had to knock the wall to make them aware they were disturbing us. The second night had different guests & they proceeded to watch television until 11.40. Their TV seemed to be against our wall so we heard every sound!! There does not appear to be any sound deadening or insulation between the stud walls & every sound could be heard including those using the toilet, shower & WHB, their televisions & conversations. We had two very disturbed nights sleep. We appreciate the disturbance from other guests is out of Dermots control but he does need to address better sound insulation to ensure his guests have a comfortable night. Sadly due to this we would not stay here again or recommend.
The Lighthouse is a lovely B & B & Dermot the host is a very nice gentleman & very helpful in advising of places to go. The bed, pillows & linen was very comfortable & the room spacious.

United KingdomNo air conditioning but not really needed in August in Eire.
Dermot was very friendly and informative. The continental breakfast with fruits and yoghurt was excellent. Good coffee. Good parking. Easy walk into Dingle. Advise that you book popular restaurants one week in advance.

United StatesThe property was immaculate, and comfortable to stay at in every way- really making guests feel at home. But what really made the experience stand out was the host. From the moment we booked, he was warm. responsive and accommodating. We were running late for check in time and the host stayed to greet us and gave several local recommendations that turned out great. The location was perfect-peaceful , yet close to everything we needed. We stayed in several vacation rentals on this trip and this one set the standard. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, charm, and outstanding hospitality, look no further. We will definitely return.

United StatesLoved everything about it!!
Ahhhh Beautiful Magical Dingle! With THIS Breathtaking view from our lovely, charming B&B! From the moment we stepped in the door of The Lighthouse, we were treated like long lost friends! Family in fact! Dermot & Jack not only welcomed us from a long drive from Doolin, (we are from Cleveland Ohio, in Ireland for 11 days, this was our 3rd stop) but made sure we were comfortable & well cared for, for our entire stay! AND THAT VIEW!! We were in room 6! The B&B is charming, well appointed and immaculately clean! The breakfast is delicious and the choices are pure Irish! Made with love and care! The intentional decor and warmth of each detail, this darling place made me never want to leave! The Lighthouse will now be tradition whenever we are in Dingle! Thank You Dermot & Jack! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!!
