How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The plug in our bathroom was broken but the staff were very apologetic when I told them.
The hotel is very quaint, in a brilliant location on the square in Listowel town. The rooms are decorated beautifully and we ate our breakfast in a gorgeous room overlooking the river.

Room (10) immediately beside the lift so we could hear every movement unfortunately.

There was a very strong paint smell in the room it was probably after been redecorated but it was quite strong

Bed was a little uncomfortable. bathroom was clean apart from the shower, as there was mould on the walls.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, nice choice.

I am not sure if it was because it was last minute. But I felt it was very expensive for one night, and I saw if I had booked directly with the hotel it would have been far cheaper. Not the hotels fault but something worth noting.
We stayed for one night, the service was good, place was very clean, rooms were a little dated but very comfortable

The heating temperature was a problem initially, but this was sorted very quickly 👍
Great breakfast, lots of choices hot and cold. Outstanding customer service by all the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful and genuinely cared about the guests. Loved everything about this hotel.

Lack of things like a hair dryer or a fridge but honestly it's a great hotel. The food is really nice as well

View from King Room wasn't spectacular looking on to the back of the hotel and other rooms, we did have a small view of the river though. Male toilets downstairs near reception could do with a bit of clean in the cubicles, paneling was a bit grubby. A odd cob web in the breakfast room around the lights was spotted by someone, not myself.
We only stayed the one night but King Room was comfy and spacious, bathroom was clean, modern and shower was really nice. Hotel has a very beautiful front and the interior had really nice balanced decor. We had a really peaceful stay that night and staff were very nice and polite for our short stay. Irish Breakfast was really really nice and the window view from the residents breakfast room was beautiful looking on to the River and Listowel Horse Race Course. Staff were very friendly and polite, some were as good to have the chat about our evening out and about in Listowel.

See above, but very little really
Always enjoy staying in Listowel Arms, staff have always been superbly accommodating and friendly . The breakfast choice still remains limited and of reasonable quality. The room and bed were of 5 * quality , but the options of shampoo, body wash and hand washing needs to be such as to accommodate even those with sensitive skin, even by just providing an alternative. Finally, bigger towels for post showering.

Location, great breakfast, Staff were exceptional. Special call-out to Keelen. A gentleman, great at what he does. Shocked he is not part of the management team!
