How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Excellent guesthouse. Agnes and her husband run a fantastic operation. Rooms are spotless and clean as are all the facilities.a Their communication was excellent throughout and they even gave us a lift the next morning themselves to our next stop.

Mixed toilets. It would have been better if there had been a separate shared male and shared female bathroom.
Comfortable beds and clean, cosy rooms. It was straightforward to check in, and there were good facilities in the shared kitchen for making tea and coffee.

Very friendly. Spotlessly clean. Close to town. Everything for self-catering if you stay but perfect for overnight as well. Owner is a biker so very Biker friendly.

I stayed in the Monkey Puzzle after finishing the Wicklow Way, and it was the best way to end my trip. The B&B is beautiful, very nicely decorated and full of services: kitchen, washing room, tea room... My room was clean and comfortable. The hostess was very kind (she even offered to pick me up at Clonegal). Besides, the B&B is very close tu pubs, restaurants and the bus stop to Dublin. A great place to stay after finishing the Wicklow Way or just spending a couple of days.

turned up on a weekday and the road can get very busy although it calmed down later the driveway is gravel so if youre on 2 wheels watch where you park (see above)
right on the main road opp a supervalu bunk bed (posh double) wasnt expecting comfy but was fine places to sit downstairs patio outside conservatory for places to chill - full kitchen so you can prep food for yourself tea coffee provided agnes is lovely - thanks for the help with the sidestand :o) - good comms (i only saw the excellent info after i arrived cos on the bike) house is very clean - looks like its been redone recently

Agnes is Amazing lady running well and very clean place located just heart of bunclody and even 25 min drive from Gorey and also close to Carlow . I accidentally spoiled 2 bottle of beer on the bed and she took it easy. I am really sorry for that . Would never happen again . Thank you very much . Out side coffee area is fantastic .

Nothing really.
This place is self catering so doesn't provide breakfast. However, it has a very well equipped kitchen for use by guests. Went to a cafe in our onward journey. The Monkey Puzzle is in an old but characterful house. It is in very nice condition and is truly immaculate. Our hostess, Agnes, was very charming and very helpful. Not all rooms have en-suite, and our booked room didn't have, but Agnes found us a room with an en-suite. We would stay here again.

The fire doors slam when closing so, because our room was next to the toilet, we were woken up by the door slamming a few times in the night.
Such an easy check in process. The whole place was very clean and tidy with very nice touches throughout. Showers were good. Kitchen was well equipped. Location was close to town.

Because of the location close to a busy road some people may have a problem with the traffic noise. Personally I didn't. They also got wooden shutters on inside of the windows which are of great help.
Fantastic place to stay. Received our codes for the doors before our arrival. Once inside 2 badges per room were left on window sill. With these badges we could come and go as we pleased. This saved us having to tap in the codes each time. Rooms were spotless, Because we only stayed over for one night we didn't actually see anyone as we had to leave early the next morning.
