There wasn't anything we didn't like

My family and I had 3 rooms between us and we couldn't fault anything about them. Its family owned and they went above and beyond in every which way to make our 4 day stay as perfect as could be. The situation of the property is ideal for eating out as we did and very handy for visiting holiday hotspots. We could well recommend and hopefully we would all love to return there again. 10/10

I wish the coffee shop opened earlier. The coffee was great though!

Great location in the middle of a small town. The owner is so helpful and accommodating. You can make your own food and coffee if you like in the community kitchen or get a coffee at the shop.

A big thank-you to Tomas.. excellent host!! Fantastic location, great facilities, cosy and welcoming, dog friendly, perfect night away. Great coffee shop within the building, lovely court yard area to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, brilliant kitchen area. High Street has lovely shops, pubs, great restaurant Val's, pretty nearby park, excellent location to explore.

There should have been hair dryer in the room.

No breakfast was provided but it was near stores where we could buy our own food and cook it. The kitchen is complete with utensils, plates, cups, glasses etc. Eddie and Tom were very nice, offered the use of kitchen for meals and also took care of our transportation to and from the Shrine.

Room was quite light at night particularly with the green emergency lighting - but better to be safe. So generally all good. Maybe didn’t need the heated towel rail on in the current warm weather.

The property was well maintained, the owner Tomās was on hand with tips and recommendations for things to do and places to see , there is a lovely communal kitchen if you fancy cooking , the building has everything on its doorstep .. would definitely stay again if we ever return to Ballyhaunis... We loved the location, people were friendly and helpful. We hired a car and visited lots of places. The Shrine at knock was beautiful, and the visit to West port were the highlights of our holiday. Tomas the owner of James Lyon, very helpful, friendly and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. There is a Kitchen on site so you can prepare own food. There are two local supermarkets to buy produce, or if you prefer there are a couple of pubs and restaurants who serve lovely food. I would have loved tea/coffee facilities in the room but this wasn't a problem. We had a fantastic stay in Ballyhaunis. A huge thank you to Tomas the owner for the hospitality and the delicious coffee. Would definitely return.

Carpenter could have done a better job fitting the doors. Ours closed fine but we had to lock it to keep it shut. We had two rooms and the second one also had a problem unlocking the door. Threading problems with a new property so no worries. Otherwise 100%

Small and comfortable. Shower was fine room had all you required for a short stay. Recently refurbished the finish was very good.

Located in a wonderful little town close to Knock airport. The rooms where beautiful and spacious and the Host Thomas was excellent he made sure we had everything we needed he even booked us a dinner in the local restaurant and recommended bars. Very nice stay and great value. I will be looking forward to returning.

The host is the most hardworking man I've ever met, very polite, cares about his guests, always comes around to make sure his guests are good, always available, gives you all the information, help and support you need. Very focused, organised, hardworking with a smile on his face. You need anything? He's a call away. The hotel has everything to make you feel at home...away from home and that includes a surveillance camera to keep the property secure and make the guests feel safe. The hotel is adjacent to the Bus stop, a stone throw to the train station, and few minutes walk to basic amenities like supermarkets, pharmacy, eatery, you name it. The hotel is perfectly located at the heart of the Town. If you are visiting Ireland, ditch the big cities, start with Ballyhaunis and check into JAMES LYONS B&B, you will thank me later. I really liked that it is so convenient. Based literally in the centre of this lovely town. Also, there is a coffee shop right next door for your morning drinks
