Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe smaller bedroom with a double bed could not accommodate two single beds, so we had to use the small double bedroom, which was stuffy and hot. Unfortunately, we didn't sleep well at all. Breakfast options were limited, although the price was a bit expensive.
We spent a lovely weekend in these two apartments. It was terrific—clean, with towels changed every day by the friendliest staff. The view of the lake was great, and there were lovely walks nearby. The apartments were spacious, and each bedroom had an ensuite. The kitchen was functional. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone travelling with kids for a few days. The price was very reasonable, and there was a beautiful walking trail through the woods that led to the lake.

United KingdomThe €5 breakfast misleading. Needs to identify exactly what you get for €5 which the sheet does not explain properly.
The €5 breakfast is an asset and having essentials you can purchase in shop a good idea.

United KingdomCheck in was meant to be from 4pm, we arrived a little early hoping to get in but was told it would be 5pm before the apartment was ready. this was very annoying as we had a long drive. Check out is 11am so was surprised that 5 hours is not long enough to clean a 2 bedroom apartment. Seemed like they need more staff.
the view was fantastic, rooms were clean and beds comfy. Plenty of wardrobe space, and was great having ensuite bathrooms so we werent all sharing the same one. The apartment was quiet and secure. A decent gym available on site and a shop at reception for esentials. We didnt get the breakfast, but looked like good value €5 for cereal, pastry, tea/coffee & fruit.

IrelandStaff seemed really miserable like they hated being there. Very unapproachable but did assist with some issues for us and quickly resolved. When explaining the rooms/keycards/ WiFi the staff member mumbled and was very difficult to understand. Appeared annoyed when we asked for her to repeat as we couldn't hear or understand. Use of key cards for each bedroom was annoying as we had 4 children who locked theirs in their bedroom also. Showers weren't great, either freezing or boiling hot. Not enough of a seating area in the sitting room to accommodate 8 people. Toaster handle was broken. Microwave and oven didn't work. We didn't raise this as an issue as the staff were so unapproachable. Had to ask for more pillows for all the beds as ours were paper thing. One bedroom was very musty and smelled like there had been a leak in the past. Obviously renting to families as a way to make money during the summer months by squeezing 8 family members into an apartment that would accommodate 4 students. Shop on site but not great- some produce not very fresh. Served a purpose as a base for us to explore Sligo but wouldn't stay again. Too expensive at 1,000euro for 4 nights. Honestly not worth it.
Clean apartments Some Tea bags, milk and sugar supplied on arrival. Nice lakeside walk on site where the kids went fishing. Secure and safe for children Rooms were basic but clean and spacious. 10 minute drive to sligo town. Fresh towels every day placed in our bathrooms. Bedding changed after 3 days. Shop on site open until midnight.

IrelandThe apartment was clean, but some of the fixtures needed to be replaced, especially the shower doors that were rusting at the bottom, with some black mould growing on the bottom of the door runners. The breakfast on offer in the shop was ok, but the fresh fruit provided was nearly stale, and there could be a better selection provided. Some of the items in the shop were very overpriced.
Skeleton staff on duty when we arrived. Agra, who greeted us, was very professional and helpful, but I felt sorry for her as she was the only one on duty apart from housekeeping staff. The apartment was lovely and well equipped with plenty of space, and there were clean towels provided every day.

IrelandOn arrival the staff member who attended to us at reception never greeted us and seemed impatient when asked to clarify any requirements eg about parking areas, door locks etc. When she was showing us the apartment she abruptly left and slammed the door without telling us she had finished. Sometimes the reception/ restaurant area is left unattended when newly arrived guests are being shown their apartments. Staff are probably overwhelmed by this on certain occasions and other guests can be left waiting for rather long.
