Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandNothing. Best I’ve stayed in and I’ve stayed all over the world in top hotels for work!
Beautiful property in gîte beside owners own home. Its in wonderfully secluded location with views over cork harbour to the front and countryside from our bedroom windows. Host was so friendly and helpful with great insider tips for local places to go, visit and eat at that were not touristy. Room was beautifully decorated and clean. It’s only a short 6min walk down to the local restaurant with stunning walks for miles along the sea front. Felt totally safe with gated entrance.

United KingdomTake note of the advice for finding the property location, it is easy to get misdirected. You need to be right up on top of the hill with Cork harbour way below.
Nice room, lovely location on top of the hill looking down into Cork harbour, easy access by the local ferry to Cobh.

IrelandMy room wasn't en-suute, I had to walk across the hall to the bathroom/shower. Although it was a bathroom to myself! People staying in the first floor above me where quiet noisy, I could hear every step they took early in the morning and late at night.
Beautiful house, everything new and tastefully decorated, quiet - facing green fields!

IrelandStayed here with a colleague for a business visit to Cork. Had trouble getting accommodation in the city but so glad we ended up staying in the Lodge. The rooms were immaculately clean, the shower was powerful and the bed was so comfy. Had a very restful sleep. Also had tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was very welcome.Great WiFi too. I left my charger behind and it was posted back to me. Blaithin is a great host and had plenty of recommendations for places to eat. Highly recommend.

IrelandI find it hard to write this because it was my 1st break away in a long time, and I don't want to seem critical. But when I 1st booked the lodge through the booking. Com website I thought that I was getting the full lodge to myself. It was only after correspondence with the host that I got an idea that other people would be staying there also, and it was the room in the lodge that I had booked and paid for. Also, while I was there, I noticed that the lodge had a front living area that looked like it was being renovated, but it was off-limits. It would have been nice to be able to have use of an area like this separate from the bedroom. Finally, the distance from the lodge to somewhere to get something to eat and drink is too far if I want to get a drink. Now I'm not a big drinker, but as I was celebrating an occasion I would have liked the option to either have a drink with my food and walk home or know that there maybe a local taxi that would be able to provide that service. Oh, one last thing the bathroom could do with an extraction fan as it might not always be an option to leave the window open when using the shower.
I liked the location. It is a stunning place. The room was beautiful and cosy. The finishing touches in the room were 100% perfect. I liked the quirky old style wardrobe. I liked the fact that water was supplied each day. I liked the extra touch of a birthday card, and the present from the host. It was very humbling to receive. The bed was very comfortable, and the quality of the linen was more than I am used to. The bathroom was very modern and stylish with high spec finishes. The hosts were very attentive and helped make my stay one that I will remember for a long time.

RomaniaI would have liked to be able to use the kitchen. Considering I stayed for 3 weeks, I would have liked to have a space to prepare something quickly. I wouldn't consider that a downside, more a personal preference
The location, cleanliness, and friendliness of the hosts were fabulous, I can't comment on this aspect. We stayed here for 3 weeks and everything was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The view and location are excellent, and I recommend it.

United KingdomLovely host family with guest rooms in a separate building. Very nicely furnished and very comfortable. A steepish downhill walk to a couple of good pubs on waterfront. We drove to Park-and-Ride for Cork but buses available by pubs. Great location for Cobh too via car ferry.
