Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Everything. the whole place was spotless room was warm on arrival spacious, bed was just as we liked. Great choice of food at breakfast. Patricia was the perfect host. Will definitely recommend to family and friends I hope to return one day.

Can’t think of anything negative.
Lovely accommodation, very clean and the host Patricia couldn’t have been more helpful. So friendly and easy to get along with. The breakfasts were brilliant, every taste catered for. The location was spot on. Only 10 minute walk into Kenmare town which is absolutely charming. Plenty of great places to eat and drink, all with excellent service and quality. Will definitely be going back and will be recommending The White House to all my family and friends.

We liked everything about the White House.
Immaculately clean bedroom and house. Our hostess, Patricia, could not have been more hospitable or welcoming - she is exceptional and clearly enjoys her work. The house is lovely and very comfortable but a 20-25 minute walk to Kenmare centre, however it is a pleasant walk.

Breakfast could not have been any better, plenty of the best home cooked food, wonderful full Irish breakfast, a wide selection of fruits, creals and yoghurt, more than enough to satisfy anybody 's taste.

The warm reception and hospitality from Patricia the owner. We arrived a little before check in time on a wet day and she welcomed us in. The property is spotless, bed comfortable and great breakfast. The property is a bit of a walk to the beautiful historic town. Golf course in walking distance. Parking on site.

Patricia was the best host we could have asked for. So very welcoming and attentive, she was a true joy and our stay here was a highlight on our Irish vacation. If frequent guest Betty is staying at the property also you’ll be in for an even better time! 2 absolute gems of ladies and we were so happy to have met them.

Room a little small.
Comfortable and clean home. Good location, walkable to Kenmare which is a nice town. Easy to access beautiful areas such as Ring of Kerry. Patricia, the host, was very helpful, friendly and great local knowledge. Lovely breakfast too. Easy to park.

Exceptional stay – Patricia is a great great host and her B&B is in a perfect location Patricia was friendly and very accommodating, making check-in smooth and stress-free. The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The location was ideal—close to local attractions, shops, and transport. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Tricia is an absolute pleasure. She welcomes you like a long lost friend and her breakfast cannot be beat! We decided to spend an extra night in the west rather than Dublin. Good move!
