Authentic cottage, fresh, comfortable bed, short drive to beach, close to pub and restaurant. Home baked scones on arrival. There were plenty of fresh towels. Stayed with husband and my 2 young children. We all loved our weekend break.

That we didn't book it for longer!

Gérard was an amazing host, he had us in stitches with his stories. The first day he brought us homemade scones and apple jelly which was amazing! He told us where the best places to eat are and sent me links to the places we wanted to go. A truly amazing gentleman and we will definitely be back again.

A fantastic thatched cottage in the heart of the Inishowen Peninsula. Genuinely authentic with all the modern amenities you need. Ger was a fantastic host who related the history of the cottage and supplied homemade scones and jam along with honey from his own bees. The fire was lit on arrival and Ger returned the following day to light it again and empty the ashes. He also regaled us with amusing stories and assured us he was only a phone call away if we had any issues. We didn't but nice to know. We have stayed in many cottages in this area and this one is definitely a real taste of times past. We would highly recommend and will definitely return.

    Very little.

Delightful cottage. A step back in time with a modern day comfort. Warm cosy and so relaxing. Host was very welcoming and warm. Provided with a welcome hamper which was a lovely gesture. Homemade scones and Jam. Delicious. Fire was lit when we arrived which was much appreciated and added to the cosy atmosphere. Situated just a short walk from Carndonagh and close to all amenities. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

A wonderful reminder of Ireland long ago. Beautiful cosy little cottage and Ger had the fire lit when we arrived. He also supplied homemade scones and jam which was so wonderful. He arrived on the second evening to ensure all was right with the fire - very attentive. Would recommend a stay. Walking distance from the town and a short drive from some beautiful locations.

Ger was a great host who made us homemade scones and jam, which were delicious. He even had the fire lit for our arrival. Beds were very comfortable. The cottage is only a short distance from the town. Beautiful Culdaff beach about a 10-15 minutes drive away. We also enjoyed meeting the little goats nextdoor- the farmer was nice enough to show my 4 year old the new baby kid goat getting her bottle. Lovely memories overall.

The bed with the wrought iron frame could be updated. Some signage or mention of the wall with red capping, might help find the property.

Our host, Ger, was very welcoming and helpful. We found the stove on and a basket full of homemade goodies waiting for us. Tigín Tuí is a small traditional cottage and a great location to explore the Inishowen peninsula. Our dog enjoyed the Donegal break and the traditional atmosphere that radiates from these stone walls. Ger went above and beyond to advise us of the best places to visit. We would definitely go back!

Nothing of significance but maybe think about changing the pillows.

EVERYTHING This is my second time to stay in this cosy cottage. Gerard rang me to say the cottage was ready and the fire was lit which was very welcome as it was raining. The location is perfect and not far from Carndonagh town. Gerard even left us a jar of honey and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We are looking at dates to book again during the summer.

    Nothing I didn't like

Great location, very friendly and knowledgeable host. The cottage is beautiful with a lovely neighbour who has the most fun, amusing goats to watch while having your coffee. You have the country feel living, yet close enough you could walk to the village for those who don't have a car.

Nothing, at first I thought oh god there’s no tv but that just added to the authenticity of this truely historic cottage

I must say that from booking to departure and all in between I am left with nothing but good things to say about the host, property and personal touch that I feel I’ve not experienced at any other property or hotel I’ve stayed in before. Gerard went far beyond what is expected from a host. Gerard met us upon arrival with a warm basket of freshly baked scones along with butter, milk and homemade jam, however to my absolute surprise Gerard had rang just as we set off from our home 3 hours away and we discussed arrival time etc and I explained we planned to stop in letterkenny for some food before heading on up to the cottage, Gerard went and took time out of his busy day to text me some recommendations along with directions as to places we could stop along the way due to as he explained long delays in letterkenny due to roadworks. We we arrived at the cottage Gerard arrived and to my absolute amazement he told us the story of the cottage which took my breath away having not knowing how historic it was when booking, I sat each night in the living room thinking back of all those who have crossed its door way throughout the years and felt at home. I have nothing but good things to say about all of it and could write so much more of how the host looks after the guests and the cottage itself. A truely memorable few days and one I am privileged to have experienced. Thank you so much Gerard I am already looking at booking a return trip and I probably will for many many years to come that is how good our experience was. You are a credit to humanity well done you

There are absolutely no negative comments about our stay.

There was no breakfast included. However our host Gerard was very kind to have scones baked on arrival and homemade jam, a lovely welcome. He also arrived during the day to light the fire for us and gave us a history of his cottage.
