Authentic cottage, fresh, comfortable bed, short drive to beach, close to pub and restaurant. Home baked scones on arrival. There were plenty of fresh towels. Stayed with husband and my 2 young children. We all loved our weekend break.

Gérard was an amazing host, he had us in stitches with his stories. The first day he brought us homemade scones and apple jelly which was amazing! He told us where the best places to eat are and sent me links to the places we wanted to go. A truly amazing gentleman and we will definitely be back again.

That we didn't book it for longer!

    Property response:

thanks for your kind words.... it was my pleasure and like I said our cottage is your home whilst you stay.

A fantastic thatched cottage in the heart of the Inishowen Peninsula. Genuinely authentic with all the modern amenities you need. Ger was a fantastic host who related the history of the cottage and supplied homemade scones and jam along with honey from his own bees. The fire was lit on arrival and Ger returned the following day to light it again and empty the ashes. He also regaled us with amusing stories and assured us he was only a phone call away if we had any issues. We didn't but nice to know. We have stayed in many cottages in this area and this one is definitely a real taste of times past. We would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Delightful cottage. A step back in time with a modern day comfort. Warm cosy and so relaxing. Host was very welcoming and warm. Provided with a welcome hamper which was a lovely gesture. Homemade scones and Jam. Delicious. Fire was lit when we arrived which was much appreciated and added to the cosy atmosphere. Situated just a short walk from Carndonagh and close to all amenities. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

    Very little.

A wonderful reminder of Ireland long ago. Beautiful cosy little cottage and Ger had the fire lit when we arrived. He also supplied homemade scones and jam which was so wonderful. He arrived on the second evening to ensure all was right with the fire - very attentive. Would recommend a stay. Walking distance from the town and a short drive from some beautiful locations.

    Property response:

it was lovely to meet you both. glad you had a nice visit.

Ger was a great host who made us homemade scones and jam, which were delicious. He even had the fire lit for our arrival. Beds were very comfortable. The cottage is only a short distance from the town. Beautiful Culdaff beach about a 10-15 minutes drive away. We also enjoyed meeting the little goats nextdoor- the farmer was nice enough to show my 4 year old the new baby kid goat getting her bottle. Lovely memories overall.

    Property response:

thank you so much for your kind review. glad the kids enjoyed their stay.

Our host, Ger, was very welcoming and helpful. We found the stove on and a basket full of homemade goodies waiting for us. Tigín Tuí is a small traditional cottage and a great location to explore the Inishowen peninsula. Our dog enjoyed the Donegal break and the traditional atmosphere that radiates from these stone walls. Ger went above and beyond to advise us of the best places to visit. We would definitely go back!

The bed with the wrought iron frame could be updated. Some signage or mention of the wall with red capping, might help find the property.

    Property response:

thank you for your kind words and I will indeed change the bed and put up a sign. I will send you confirmation of doing both.

EVERYTHING This is my second time to stay in this cosy cottage. Gerard rang me to say the cottage was ready and the fire was lit which was very welcome as it was raining. The location is perfect and not far from Carndonagh town. Gerard even left us a jar of honey and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We are looking at dates to book again during the summer.

Nothing of significance but maybe think about changing the pillows.

    Property response:

thank you for your feedback and new pillows will be purchased tomorrow. It's super to share our love of this place with our visitors and show this is the place where we live and is a haven of tranquility!
