Beautiful, location, convenient to Connemara and the west coast as well as Galway, quiet and picturesque but also walkable to downtown Oughterard. Room and house in general was beautiful, spotless and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious and made fresh.

We had a room at the top of the house which was fabulous but unfortunately we also had two large suitcases that we had to get up the staircases (two floors) but that was not the host's fault!

There were two choices for breakfast - pancakes, which also came with a small bowl of muesli/granola and yogurt and some fruit, OR an Irish breakfast which included eggs, sausages, bacon, white sausage and black sausage as well as toast. There were also self serve options of yogurt, cereals, fruit and various toasts.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The home is beautiful in an equally beautiful and quiet location. The host was fantastic and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was great and much appreciated. The nearby town was also quite nice and we recommend the Oughterard Heritage Walk. It was short, relaxing, and educational.

Very minor things: - plug points were a little sparse; would've been good to have a point near the bed for phones - the duvet was coming out of its cover through the night

We were in Connemara as my partner was running the marathon, so we chose the B&B based on its location near the pick-up point for the buses to the Connemarathon; but truly everything was wonderful from the moment we stepped in. Location-wise, it's tucked in a cosy street just a 10min walk away from the main road and the town. As soon as we stepped in to check-in, Barbara was there to welcome us into her cosy place and immediately made us feel at home. She showed us to our room, asked us when and what we'd like for breakfast, and was interested in us and so full of warmth and energy – she's an absolute charm and the perfect host. She made sure we had everything we needed, at our convenience, and was extremely generous and fun to speak to. The room was perfectly comfortable and sizeable, the bathroom was beautiful (loved the green and white tiling), shower was warm. Breakfast was freshly made for us when we went down, together with coffee and any other special requests; and the space was bright, comfortable and decorated sweetly with family photos and comfy interiors. I especially loved the sunroom where I spent half an hour in the morning drinking a second cup of coffee and flipping through a coffee-table book on Ireland's beautiful places. There's also a huge deck and back yard/garden, which sadly we weren't able to enjoy because of the weather (but perhaps next time!). It was all the things that are wonderful about a B&B, especially in this time of impersonal Airbnbs and hotels. Special shoutout to Barbara for running her place with all the joy, energy, and charm and making it look effortless.

    Nothing at all to dislike

Barbara is a wonderful host. Great wit. Breakfast was perfect. Twin room was so comfortable and spotlessly clean. The peace and quiet. We slept so well. Very close to town centre. Barbara organised a booking at a perfect little restaurant whilst we were out road tripping the area to Kylemore Abbey and Clifden. Highly recommend a stay at Woodlands. Thank you Barbara you made us feel so at home.
