How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed staying at Dr. Uriel's. He is very kind and provides us with very good information about Jerusalem, transportation etc. The breakfast is delicious, kept us full for long time :) And the location is excellent. Also we really appreciated documents sent prior of our arrival which included how to get to accomodation, places to visit and opening hours etc. That was really great.
The shower is a little small and curtain for shower could be a bit bigger to avoid water on the floor.

The shower is a little small. If you have any mobility problems, you may have a problem with the entrance stairs.

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic stay in Uriel's charming apartment right next to the old city of Jerusalem, just 5-10 minutes walk from the Damascus Gate in a quiet and quaint location. Uriel was an incredibly helpful, generous and knowledgeable host, giving us very detailed tips of what to see and how to fit everything in to our short stay and being a great companion at breakfast or for a glass of wine on the terrace, sharing some delightful tales of his life and the city. One of the best things about the place is that there is only one guest room (with a private bathroom) which makes everything so much more personable, like staying with family. We can 100% recommend a stay with Uriel if you're lucky enough to visit this amazing city. Thank you for our lovely stay!
Nothing. For taller people the size of the shower may be a bit uncomfortable. If you're allergic to cats then it may not be ideal. We found the cats lovely and friendly and Uriel makes a point of strictly keeping them out of the guest's suite but they are in the shared living space.

Verified reviewCharmingly located on a pedestrian lane, close to Old City, tram, bus stops and two bus terminals. Owner provides generous breakfast and made omelets and oatmeal on request. The owner provided advice on where to go and how to get there, and he lent us 2 RavCav cards (one with 49ILS and one that needed to be topped up). The owner did some laundry for us at no charge.
The room is 2 flights up via outside stone stairs, really dangerous in the rain. The room and bathroom were clean, but the rest of the areas to which we had access were cluttered and dirty. The owner said the hot water boiler had to be turned on 1 hour before showers, leading us to believe we had to request it. Much later we learned that was only because it had been raining, so the solar. The shared living and dining rooms are not heated; a portable heater is turned on when guests are present. It isn't comfortable. The shower is very small, with a skimpy curtain that doesn't close all the way, so it's nearly impossible to avoid water on the floor. The bed is very noisy. The room is crowded with unnecessary furniture, including an antique piano. There's no place to set your suitcases. The bed is less than a foot from the side wall, requiring you to walk crab-like with your head down to avoid the wall sconce. If you move the bed away from the wall, the door cannot be closed. Best for a single guest, not a couple.
Sorry, this report somehow does not make any sense if you compare it to all the other reviews that were written about us...

Verified reviewThanks once again for your hospitality, it wouldn’t be same without yours advices. We already told our friends that we’re lucky to meet you. Now we are trying to explain to our friends how it is in Jerusalem and that if they are planning to visit Israel 🇮🇱, your place is “must be” on map. Once again thank you that was amazing journey through history and plenty of religious history
Thanks, dear Rafał & dear Anna! It was MY pleasure to get to know you and to have you here as our guests! All the best and take care... Uriel with Assaf

Verified reviewThe owner, Dr Uriel Adiv, was extremely helpful with advice re daily activities and put together interesting daily itineraries including details of transport . Uriel also arranged a private taxi for visits to Bethlehem, Masada etc. He is very knowledgeable . He also took the trouble to phone before we left home to advise against use of a hire car in Jerusalem and, on our return, phoned again to make sure that we arrived home safely.
Thank you soooo much once again, dear Ingrid! I was a real pleasure having you here with us in Jerusalem!!
