Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceDorraine was an incredible host! As someone visiting Israel for the first time, this bed and breakfast was the ideal starting point for exploring Jerusalem. It’s conveniently located near the old city, but it’s also in a peaceful and relaxing area. I highly recommend it!

GermanyThe nearby Hebron Road can be a bit noisy in places, but this is not a real problem as it is about 100m away.
I have been to Jerusalem several times now and I can say that Dorraines Jerusalem Bed & Breakfast is an excellent place to stay. If you don't just want to see Jerusalem, but also want to get to know it, this is the best choice, because you are warmly integrated into the life of Jerusalem and have the opportunity not only to enjoy the family atmosphere, but also to get to know numerous residents of Jerusalem, friends and acquaintances of the family. I will always remember the Shabbat dinners with their excellent food, but also the everyday life with its many conversations. The house itself is very nice, stylishly furnished and centrally located. From the kitchen you have a spectacular view of the city and the beautiful German Colony is within walking distance. The family is extremely hospitable and at the same time very discreet: you can choose how much interaction you want and can always withdraw.

Czech RepublicStaying at Dorraine's is a little different than your standard B&B. Dorraine and Barry welcome you to their home and you become part of their family for the duration of your stay. It is like visiting your grandparents, who live far away, so you don't see them very often. They have their rules and set ways, but if you are up for that (it's not that big of a commitment), you will enjoy your stay with lots of interesting discussions, wisdom and jokes. Also, the location to stroll around Jerusalem is excellent, I basically did not use public transport and just walked.

United StatesIt's in a nice part of the city, with the First Station restaurants practically across the street. Dorraine's place is right next to a beautiful public park that offers great views of the old city and Mt. Olive. Both of my hosts offered good advice on how to see Jerusalem. The room and the whole apartment are kept super clean. Breakfast was self serve.

PolandBed could be more comfortable. If you like spending hours in a bathroom, bear in mind that you will share it with other guests.
Dorraine is a very friendly host who can make you feel like home (this is not a regular hotel or apartment!). Go there if you want to taste some real local life (including shabbat supper).

The location is also extremely convenient to everything; you can walk or take public transport and get anywhere quickly. Before arrival, she sends a message that is extremely helpful telling you how to use public transport!!! Great place! I would book again in a heartbeat!

United KingdomNothing negative to say
Dorraine’s B&B was a home away from home and gave a valuable insight into the Jewish way of life. Dorraine even invited me to a Shabbat dinner (€25) while I was there. She was very kind and leant me a long skirt as I wanted to pay a visit to the ultra orthodox neighbourhood. Also I was very well informed how to get everywhere and arrive at her place.

FinlandWe didn't expect to live in the actual home of the owners. But it was great! The couple was very friendly and we spent hours talking with them. Dorraine herself is a very affable person and talkative too, if you wish to spend time with her. Keep in mind they have a kosher kitchen. But it works fine when you, if a foreigner, get the main rules. The First Train Station is across the street with many restaurants and the Old City is in 20-minute walk. And you always will find a spot to park your car near the house if you need.
