Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelVery dirty 'blind spots' in the bathroom, eg behind the wash basin tap and behind the toilet. The shower doors were not sparkling clean. Fridge was extremely noisy and we had to unplug it. No shampoo and conditioner only shower gel and liquid soap dispensers.
The rustic stone walls and the comfy bed, pillows and cotton bed linen.

IsraelThe price of 613 NIS is too expensive for one night (without breakfast). If u want breakfast u have to add 150 NIS which is also very expensive for breakfast. The shower in the room was very old and the shower door was broken.

SingaporeShower stall is quite small and not very clean. Years of grime from not cleaning well, i think. Slight smell from the water drainage holes on the floor.
I have a free upgrade to room with balcony from booking.com and it's nice and cozy. Bed is comfy. Location is up on a slight hill, just few minutes from main street and 10mins walk away to Jaffa Gate. The front desk and service is always friendly, smiling and helpful.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a beautiful old building but it felt like it could do with a refurb. Our room was scruffy, with marks on the walls, a broken door handle and bad smelling drains from the bathroom. It was not what we were expecting for the price.
The hotel is in a great location just 10 mins walk from the Jaffa Gate and in an area with lots of good cafés, restaurants and bars.

HungaryFirst of all, when we arrived the man, I think called Jonas, was telling us to pay for the accomodation. So I told him, we already paid one month ago in advance. He replied "No, you didn't".So I told him yes we did and I also have a proof of that on my account. In spite of this, he still said "No you did not". Then he finally admitted that he forgot to sort out the payment with Booking.com. Following this, he put us into the first room right next to the bar, entrance and reception, which was always very loud. In the evening, some were loudly laughing, talking and drinking at the bar so at midnight we had to ask them to cut back the noise as we could not rest. Secondly, in the morning at 7-8 am children and others were loudly speaking, playing so it was not possible to sleep in peace. Thirdly, the position and arrangement of the bathroom was terrible and really uncomfortable. We are not big adies but still it was impossible to sit down on the toilet because it was so close to the side of the shower wall that there was no room for our leg to sit down properly as one would sit on a normal toilet. The only way to sit on the toilet was sideways but even that way it was very uncomfortable. What's more when one opened the shower door it was difficult to get out of the shower because the bathroom cabinet was so big and close to both the toilet and the shower. Above all, we wanted to be nice to pack our stuff as early as possible and leave the room so they could get the room ready for the next guest. For this reason, we put our stuff into the corridor close to the cellar at 9 am. We went back to pick up our luggage at 13:30 pm, so for sure they went into our room to clean and have a look around if we left anything behind. They did not say a word. We were already sitting on the train to Tel-Aviv when I realised that I had left my coat in the wardrobe in the room.
The location of the hotel was really convenient to go both to the city centre and to the train station. Besides this, the bed was comfortable to sleep in. However, the negative was lot more about this place and about the treatment as the positive.

Israel1. the room is extremely small - practically was touching the other wall with my legs while laying on a bed. the declared 15m2 is including restroom and small corridor . the living area itself is barely 10m2 2. some of the facilities are not in working condition - air condition wasn’t functioning and it was really cold at night, mini refrigerator wasn’t functioning too. 3. the full bed was really narrow - I estimate about 120cm width. it wasn’t so critical for 1 night sleep, but still annoying while you look some comfort for weekend escape with your spouse. 4. the doorlock wasn’t working properly. we spent like 5 minutes trying to lock the door - after consulting with hotels staff, we got instructions how to manipulate with inner lock to enable closing it with a key from outside . 5. overall room condition is poor - delaminating paint from the walls. leak marks on the sealing , really old (but. lean) towels. the bed sheets are clean but not pressed ….

United StatesOne of our rooms was quite small for two beds.
The staff worked hard to meet our requirements of 2 beds per room. The hotel is in a good location, only minutes from Jaffa Street (food\shopping\light rail) and ~10-15 minute walk to the Old City. The breakfast was good and is served in a room in the Russian compound across the street from the hotel and their gardens are beautiful.

BelgiumI did not like to arrive/stay in a hotel without staff, especially for that price. The rooms were very clean (thank you Taer!), but the walls were in a high need of repainting.. My room was noisy (street noise and noise from neighboring rooms). I booked a "Superior room", but there was nothing "Superior" about it. I got fresh towels, but that's it. No further housekeeping. I don't blame the staff, they are only instructed by the management. It felt a bit like a ghost hotel.
The location of the hotel is superb. The day before my arrival, I got a whatsapp message from Rabie (staff member) with instructions about how to enter/leave the hotel (security code/buttons to press). From then on, every communication needed went through Rabie/whatsapp. No staff present at the hotel. Although I did not like the absence of staff, the further communication with Rabie was superb: every question/problem I had, he resolved immediately. The only member of staff I met was Taer (the housekeeper) who is there from 08 am to 6pm, and he was (although he does not speak English) the most friendliest and helpfull. Rabie and Taer are the only reason that gave me a good feeling about this hotel.

Israel- The room has ants all over the place. we left a bag with food for an hour and had dozens of them on our food - There's no hot water! After turning on the boiler for 50 minutes, we had hot water for a minute or two. - The bathroom is flooded with water, and the toilet seat is barely attached and moves when you sit on it. - We received an automatic wake-up call at 5:20 in the morning without requesting it. We couldn't go back to sleep. - Other poor room conditions, tv glitching, only two small towels, etc. - The desk doesn't work on Shabbat, but they only told me the code to the hotel when i called to ask about parking. I don't know how they expected us to enter the hotel.

IsraelI booked a room for my parents for a night. The room was different from what appears in the pictures (probably they took pictures of the nicer rooms), there was a strong smell of cigarettes, there were no towels and there was no representative of the hotel present (other guests contacted a hotel employee for them to ask for towels). They went to a concert and came back at night to find that the employee put 2 towels but they were dirty, the shower didn't close all the way, the shower head fell off the wall, the bathroom sink causes flooding if used and foam came out of the drain. In the morning there was also no representative of the hotel, later I spoke with him on the phone, he answered rudely and claimed that my parents (60+) tore the shower head from the wall themselves and that they should have left immediately after the check-in (most of the problems were discovered at night and they had tickets to a concert). Recommend to stay away!
