Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot really that I didn't like but could be better in the future, the building underwent renovations recently, so some patches and finishings here and there were needed. I prefer really hot showers and the water temperature was more on the warm side (fairly hot outside during my stay, mind you) but it was OK enough that I didn't bring it up to staff
This place's biggest win is its location - unbeatable. Whether you're visiting the Old City and nearby sights, touring around Israel, or for links to the rest of Jerusalem, this hostel is an undisputed winner. Plenty of cafes, restaurants, and late night open mini markets on your doorstep. The staff were great. Check in and check out totally seamless. The room was clean and the shower worked well at all times. Great wifi too and no curfew

United KingdomHotel is very Old and in need of complete Renovation, Shops infront of Hotel selling Fish and crowded as a fish market and smelling. I messaged you on Wednesday 15-02-2022 had missed my flight and will be arriving on Thursday 16-02-2022. On arrival Thursday at 9.30am you asked me for my passport and when you checked the name you showed me your booking reservation print out and said You have already checked in and since last Night. You checked again and said my Night Manger has made a mistake, I will sort you another room. You took my full payment of ILS 1,100.00. @ 9.39am. Your assistant took me to the room which was being cleaned, It had no window, a small bathroom with the Shower over the WC Pan, Mold all over the Basin, and Glass shelf and mirror, the door had no handle. There was only a 600mm Gap to stand between the Bed where we could just about manage to put our luggage. I asked him if there was another room, he said to speak to you. When i spoke to yourself, you showed me another room in the loft on the third floor, which was again cold and had mold behind the door and not any bigger than the one on the First Floor We were tired from traveling since the last 28Hrs, and my wife's limited mobility decided to take the room on First floor as you said as soon as another room becomes available you will move us. when asked for Towels were given One Old damp Towel which had been left to Dry on stair landing Handrail. Went to use the Tea, Coffee machine in the common room where we were told by your assistant while waiting for the room to be cleaned that these facilities are for your use, there was no milk, when i asked you, your answer was this is a Hostel and not Hotel, you will have to go and buy your own Milk. Later on when i asked for Soap for use in the WC/ Shower room basin, you said as i have told you its a Hostel and not a Hotel, but will see if there is some left.
Location Good. Rooms Poor could hardly Swing a cat , Cold and not ventilated. Moldy Bathroom, WC Pan loose and rocking. Blanket have cigarette Burns and ripped.

United KingdomAgain I would stress this is a perfect budget option. If you want luxury then pay quadruple the price.
For the price the value is amazing and so is the location. This is a budget option but its clean with hot showers and a stones throw from Damascus gate. A great base to explore from, a nice lounge area and a terrace. Bring a towel. Very friendly staff and owner. I would say be realistic with expectations but I would stay again if I am sightseeing primarily and want a base to explore from.

HungaryWe got a room without window which is fine, but it was dirty, the bathroom even more so. It was impossible to flush the toilet. But it would have been all fine for the 2 nights, however the biggest turn off was the owner approach to us. They have some miscommunication with booking about the prices or something, and he handled us that we are ripping him off. First time in israel so i booked a double room close to the center, but he threated me like i should have known this is not enough for him and voluntarily pay more for him. During check in he told us multiple times what a big rip off this is. Im sure he is a nice guy, but this was not very professional. And tbh if we get an email that the price is different before arrival we may have been paying more.
The location is very good, damascus gate is just around the corner

United KingdomRooms were dirty and stuffy. AC didn’t work so was given a fan which didn’t really do much. Another thing is that the bathrooms were tiny so we’re getting overspills into the bedroom
The location was like a 2minute walk from Damascus gate. It was very easy too enter the old city. Vinny is hilarious he is the receptionist if you ever need anything go to him he’s the man!
