The outside looks terrible but is beside a restaurant with healthy and cheap food. The facilities are nice, but the Victorian couches would look prettier if steam cleaned. The bunk bed is wrought iron and looks fine, but I covered my headboard with a blanket because it would be dangerous if I hit my head on it.

The staff was helpful and nice. The facility looked fine from the inside, and I don't know why people rated it so bad. It is right across the street from the Damascus gate. It is near a tram that takes you to the train station. I will go back there if I go to Jerusalem. I consider it a top place to stay. You can get a shared cab from the Ben Gurian airport right to the door for only $20.

The bedroom itself was fine but the bathrooms could have been cleaner. I had no hot water for the duration of the stay which was 11 days. I was moved to another room but the water was still cold. The sink was very small and the shelf above was too low which meant you would hit your head on it you bent down to wash your face. It was hard to manoeuvre not hitting your head on the shelf and also trying to get the water in the sink.

The location was perfect, it was right outside Damascus gate so getting the masjid was very quick and easy. There is also a lot of food stalls and restaurants on the door step which was very convenient. The staff were helpful and nice. I was there for the last 10 days of Ramadan so I spent most of my time in the masjid.

The room was small and dark, enough to rest after a day of sightseeing but not very pleasant to be in to be fair. It could also be cleaner.

The place is cheap and very well located to visit Jerusalem just by the Damascus Gate. A cheap place to sleep after a day out. Staff was nice and accommodating.

The rooms are very basic and small. Mine didn't have a window so I had no daylight. I think most of the rooms at the hotel do have windows. I kept getting bites on my legs and I don't know whether it was from outside or the beds.

Kitchen utensils were dirty and the kitchen smelled a bit bad. Also, the refrigerator in the kitchen was not working.

The staff was very friendly. I traveled a lot of places and never met such friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable. There was AC and a closet. Every bed had a socket. There was a terrace with a wonderful view. There's complimentary coffee and tea, a fridge is available. The location was amazing. We really had a great time.

The hostel is located in an old building and does not offer much in terms of cleanliness and facilities. Our room was nice but the bathroom did not have neither a window nor an air vent and the ceiling has now become moldy. While showering, you'll have to hang your clothes on a raw nail rather than a clothing rack or a hanger. I thought the place was funny and charismatic, but if you are looking for the classic urban hostel which is standardised, clean and basically the same in every town, rather head to Jerusalem West.

The Palm Hostel is located in Jerusalem East right in front of Damascus Gate at the entrance of the old city. You will have to walk through a veggie stand to access the hostel. The area is very lively and you'll find plenty of shops, small Arab markets and some nice restaurants around. The location is ideal to explore the old town and the staff is super welcoming and nice. The room was spacious enough and the beds were comfortable.

The single room did not look at all like the one when I booked. Forget the table and chair. The room was facing the street/square with currently roadworks being carried out until beyond midnight and megaphone used all day long to advertise minibuses trips to Jaffa and Tel Aviv thanks to a weak window.

The building is old but for me it is still a good place to stay. At first the location makes you feel uncomfortable but as you stay more you find out that the neighborhood was great.

The location is very near to the public transportation. The consierge is very nice and accommodating. I am content.

Bedsheets are not changed, used blankets for all the beds and the room is filthy. The bed is narrow and it's dangerous to climb up the bunker bed because it can topple over.

Only one kitchen stove is working, which is better than nothing and the dining area is for chilling out with fellow travellers. The location is undoubtedly good.
