Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

A warm and welcoming place to stay! Breakfast was great with pita, cheese, meats, and different spreads, etc. and coffee, tea, and such sincerity to make sure I was comfortable, asking if I needed anything at all, but with plenty of privacy. It was like a home away from home…such true kindness! I’ve been traveling for five years, and such places are rare…only one other like it in all those years. The room was very comfortable, as was the bed, and always clean. I honestly felt like I'd hit the jackpot - comfy, clean, and a welcoming and delightful place to stay with a super location in the Old City of Jerusalem. Wish I could have stayed longer!

William's Guest House is a home away from home in the old city of Jerusalem. Located close to the Ethiopian Church, right within the cobbled alleyways which mark the historic city, the accommodation combines modern facilities with an old world environment which is only to be understood by experience. The house itself is old style, stone walls, wrought iron rails, old pictures and wooden furniture which breathes another world. The room was clean, comfortable, modern. The kitchen is open access with 24 hour tea and coffee. Breakfast stuff is in the fridge and you make it yourself per convenience. On an early day, we packed our own breakfast, on another day we left early then returned for a late breakfast- very convenient. You can warm up your own meal or make eggs if you wish. Lovely shops, cafes and eateries around. We arrived from Tel Aviv Airport by public transport. Took the train into Jerusalem central bus station, then line 1 to Damascus Gate stop. Short walk from there. We did not have much luggage, so this was very doable. Check in was smooth. We called William on the doorbell, were allowed into the courtyard. He arrived promptly to hand over keys and explain arrangements. On day out, we simply left keys in the house. He was contactable when needed but we had our own privacy in the space. Everything is walkable in the old city. A Jerusalem experience is incomplete without staying in here. William's guesthouse is a perfect option.

The hospitality from Micheal and his family was unreal, like perhaps nothing I have experienced before. The property was good value for money, clean and comfy. Hosts were extremely accommodating with any requests.

Wonderful people! Very clean, quiet, and could not ask for better location. Roof top is really nice! Could not have asked for better accommodations. The building has been redone and retained its ancient feel and stonework. Will definitely return!

United KingdomNo complaints at all. I recommend trying to get familiar with the entry points into the old town in advance. It took a day of getting used to but was ok.
The location was great in the old town. Not far from the Holy Sepulchre or other major cites. Staff and owner are exceptional. The accommodation was clean with a selection of fruit, tea, coffee and hot chocolate, eggs, pita and hummus. Also close to very nice restaurants and mini markets too. It will be my first choice if available if I return to Jerusalem

The best place we have stayed in if seveal years, Michael was alwas near by to help us. The breakfast was not continental, it was a full breakfast with different options. The location is exceptional so close to the 8th station of La Via Dolorosa. They even help us with services not really included.

IsraelI wished there was a website that allowed for easier bookings, but other than that is was a perfect place to stay.
I was in Jerusalem for two weekends while traveling throughout Israel and stumbled across the William's Guest house online. The price and location were perfect but what made this place one of my favorite experiences was the staff. They were all so extremely kind and helpful. They truly treated me and all the people I was traveling with like family. They helped us with transportation, food, and site seeing without hesitation. They were easy to get a hold of and responded quickly to all my inquires. I recommend this place now to anyone who is traveling to Jerusalem and wants to stay in the heart of the old city.

GreeceWilliam's Guest House is a beautiful place, located at a perfect spot within the Old City. The people working for the Guest House are exceptionally helpful and friendly, resolving any need that might occur. William is an excellent person, hospitable and caring for his guests. He even arranged to get all the help that I needed the last day, in order to bring mt luggage to Ben Gurion airportein Tel Aviv at 7 in the morning. I would recommend William's Guest House to anyone visiting Jerusalem, since this Guest House was a great experience for me!

United KingdomNothing - I liked everything!
Great location just 5 minutes from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the New Gate. It’s about 10 minutes from Jaffa Gate. The guest house Is on the corner of Ethiopian Monastery St and Al Battikh Ascent. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The guest house is pristine, cleanly decorated with excellent a/c and WiFi, a handy kitchen with a coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven and hot plate. Breakfast food is kept in the fridge so you can help yourself in the morning. There was a TV in the room which I didn’t use. There were plenty of nice toiletries in the bathroom and clean towels. The roof space has a view of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Nearby there are a couple of small grocery stores, a bakery, pizza restaurant and an ATM, as well as many souvenir shops!

BulgariaImpossible to have rest due to noise. This place is extremely nice and clean, but it has the enormous disadvatage of having all the rooms with open space around the doors and so you hear every single noise. The first morning I was waken up very early in the morning by the noise in the kitchen, on the other side of the door of my room. It was exactly as if someone was making coffee on your head literally. I wish to this place to solve the problem with the strange doors that are really painful obstacle for silence and rest. We come to the Holy city of Jerusalem from all the countries in the world with the sincere aim and wish to venerate this holy place and we simply wish to have the possibility for rest in the hotel. This is all.

IrelandRooms were packed with Beds, not much Walkway or Place to put a Suitcase -> was bearable as I was able to move to a bigger Room and a Bed (was a 3 Bed Room) was taken out. I booked for a Week and with more space it was perfect. Booking was with Breakfast, but Guests have to make their own Breakfast, Food was provided. Table for 6 in a very small Kitchen. I was mostz of the time the only Guest with another Guy for 3 Days. It worked only because I was alone. The Guesthouse can take 17 People in Total, so I don't wont to stay there when it is packed.
Location was great in the Middle of the old Town
