How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is very nearby to Kashi Vishwanath temple and Dashashwamedh ghat, transport options, market and good street food and restaurants are also closeby. The staff was polite and helpful and guided us well for Kashi Vishwanath temple Darshan and airport pickup and drop was also well managed. It's value for money.

We stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days, and it was wonderful. They made all the arrangements for the darshan. Everyone at the hotel was nice and helpful. We Enjoyed the stay there. The hotel is near to Dashashwamedh Ghat& Temple.I highly recomonded this hotel.

There were some power cuts due to some government work going on in the neighborhood.
Arya from Baba vishwanath residency took great care of us. He went out of his way to make our trip to Kashi memorable. The location is very convenient for people visiting all the main temples of Kashi.

Transportation of baggages to the hotel was to be done manually as the location of the hotel is in narrow gali I.e approach to the hotel by walk for some distance was found to be straining.
Location is closer to Ganga Ghar and Baba Viswanath ji mandir. Staff were receptive and kind. Room size is decent.

It is located in the old city next to the main ghats, the narrow streets with their shops and street food. the rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Everything was good at this hotel.. as a solo traveller, it was right choice for me, the location of the hotel is very near to major attractions of varanasi. Also amazing staff is worth mentioning, who are very friendly and makes customers feel welcome.

I wish the lobby was actually 24/7, as I needed to leave at 3AM (for darshan at the Golden Temple), and I had to be waking the staff, and shortly after that, when I needed to return to my room, the staff was asleep again and I was hardly able to wake them up, me being locked outside. There was little control over the fan. A bit too many noises are heard from adjacent rooms.
The price to value ratio is very good. Prime location if you're all about Varanasi ghats and the old town. I had the top floor deluxe room, with a great view on the bustling streets below, yet high enough above to not be bothered bye the noise as much as one would imagine. Earplugs are recommended though, apart from 2AM-4AM when it's relatively quiet outside. I really liked the lighting options, which gave the room a nuanced vibe. The bathroom was spacious enough and I never had troubles having hot water in the shower, which in India is not as obvious as it may seem, in this price range category. There was an amenity kit, which I appreciate. The room was clean and so were the duvet covers, more or less. AC was good.

Had a very pleasant stay at baba vishwanath residency . Rooms are clean & hygenic. Staff are very helpful & take care of you like family. We had old age member with us & haven't faced any problems. However you have to walk a bit for the restaurant but you can also get it at your room. Most important ghat and mandir very close only 5 mins walking distance and Thnkuu so much baba vishwanath residency

They informed us that the rooms were sold out, yet I saw that was available in booking.com at a higher price
First of all we were never given a room as the property people contacted us and told all rooms were booked and hence we had to search for alternatives the last moment
