Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A bit more cleanliness was expected, especially since we had mentioned that our little kid was accompanying us.
It was a nice stay at Basil Leaf. Although the breakfast options were limited, the food was amazing. Please try the Rawa Pomfret — it’s tasty and lives up to expectations. All the dishes prepared by the cook were delicious. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, and all the staff were cordial and supportive.

I feel Booking.Com should clearly indicate that the Hotel does not have it's own GST Registration. I was told that the GST invoice has to be procured from Booking.Com. However, my wife's name cannot be added in the invoice. Further, when I asked Mr. Mhatre to certify on the xerox copy of our Aadhar card that we both stayed in the Hotel from 4rth to 7th he demurred stating that the hotel does not have any seal or letterhead. Under the circumstance I stand to lose the Rs.13,000 odd amount paid by me as my office does not reimburse us the holiday package unlunless one of the above conditions are met.
Excellent location, near Varasoli Beach.Neat swimming pool. The host Mr.Mhatre was very polite and helpful. The cook Mr. Chandan Singh outdid himself. He has one curry ( cashew based) which fits almost all the vegetarian dishes. Must learn that! But he is an excellent cook otherwise and is willing to mould his dishes as per requirement. We loved the food.

Room were not very clean, looks like bedsheets were not changed, bathroom were not cleaned, door locks were not working, morning breakfast were having very limited options to have. Need to work on cleanliness more.
Property location is very amazing, its very near to Versoli beach where you can simply reach just in 5 mins walk and you will get the destination up there with beautiful beach with water sports activities where you can spend entire evening with your loved ones.

Ac wasn't working...there were no tissues in the toilet ...they didn't have a dental kit...only 1 soap was given for two people even body wash was a bit empty as if it was used a bit ...tiles at the hotel are very slippery I felt once and the person I came with also slept once

The owner/receptionist was rude and asked for advance payment to confirm the booking even though as per booking.com policy, the payment was to be done at the resort only. He threatened that booking would not be confirmed without advance payment and when I reached the property location, initially he mentioned that since no advance payment was done, the booking was released. Later on, after discussions, he did honour the booking but also said that since it was available, he provided.
The property was well maintained and clean. The swimming pool was the best part of the resort.

We went there for a short trip for 2 days overall very good experience. Especially staff is very polite attentive and well trained. Food quality and food service also very nice. Would like to appreciate Roshan sir for there hospitality. Location is also near by beaches alibaug kihim and varsoli which are famous and We really recommend this to our friends family for sure.

My recent stay at Basil Leaf Resort in Alibaug was simply delightful.We spent 3 nights and 4 days enjoying the serene environment just behind Varsoli Beach, which happens to be one of the cleanest and most vibrant beaches in Alibaug. love this place

The breakfast was a complete joke — just some bread and butter with misal pav. That’s all they had in the name of a buffet. To make it worse, it was served on the rooftop with zero ventilation or fans. Everyone was drenched in sweat, trying to eat in the unbearable heat and humidity. As if that wasn’t enough, I ordered prawn chilli through room service and specifically requested no chilli. What I got was a cold dish overloaded with chillies. When I asked for a replacement, they casually said they were out of prawns and told me to place a new order. No apology, no solution — just pure negligence. Truly a pathetic experience from start to finish. Avoid if you value your comfort and sanity.
