We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

FinlandI’ve been to desert camps before in Jaisalmer for vacation and this is my top favourite. The camps are located in a non-touristy region and national park. The cottage was really neat and clean. Shambhu was really a warm host who took really good care of us. We had a wonderful stay at the camp. The experience you get here is once in a lifetime and unforgettable experience.

Exceptional stay! The place is in the middle of nowhere, outside of regular tourist areas like Sam's Dunes, which makes it extremely peaceful. The host is warm and welcoming, and never failed to provide anything I required. The room was clean and comfortable. 10/10

Belgium*If you are looking for a peaceful desert experience, this is the place. *Shambhu and his staff are all super friendly and welcoming. No hassle. Easy communication via WhatsApp. *Tents are spacious and clean. Beds comfortable. Best shower we had in India so far. *The camp lies further away from the road, so no light nor sound pollution. Pick up and drop from/to Jaisalmer can be arranged. * We did the sunset camel safari with dinner in the dunes. The camels seemed well taken care of. The desert trip was beautiful and we saw millions of stars. * Food is Indian home cooking style. We liked it very much, but depends on your taste of course.

United KingdomThe fact that we only spent one night in a tent and one under the stars, we should have stopped longer.
Everything about this experience was amazing. As the camp has just recently opened, everything is brand new and super clean. We spent one night in a Swiss luxury tent. Top quality, especially for the price. Tastefully decorated, with high quality fixtures and fittings and textiles sympathetically reflecting the heritage of the region. The en suite bathroom was of excellent quality, with beautiful marble floors. The peaceful and quiet ambience lends itself to spending time doing all those things you always promised yourself, reading, drawing, meditation, just sitting and enjoying the peace. Shambhu and his team are super helpful. Anything you want, they will make happen. The food was beautiful, all freshly cooked and tasty. Plenty of daytime shade for sitting out in the form of a couple of big trees and individual smaller canvas gazebos as well as a private balcony for each tent. There is the opportunity to sit around a fire in the evening. We took the opportunity to camp out under the stars one night, such a wonderful experience. The outside beds were comfortable, and the bedding was cosy and clean. Food was cooked 'en plein air'. We watched the sun set as our evening meal was cooking and gazed at the stars. We were lulled to sleep by the gentle tinkling of camel bells and woke to breakfast cooked over a camp fire, then driven back to the camp. The team are planning a programme of cultural events that respect the local culture and environment eg local musicians and dancers. I really cannot recommend this place enough. I wish we had stayed longer.

United KingdomWe've stayed at Desert Vista Camp for two nights after doing a tour in Rajasthan. We heard that Khuri sand dunes were more authentic, peaceful and wild than Sam sand dunes. It was by far the most wonderful experience of our one-month-trip. The camp was in the desert and not by the road as some are. The owner, Sambhu was very reactive and helpful throughout our stay. He arrange our pick up and drop off in Jaisalmer with his brother, Sawai. We went on a camel ride with Sambhu, Sawrop and Abhy, enjoyed the sunset on the dunes with a very good meal prepared on the fireplace. We even learned how to make chapati ! We had an amazing night under the stars. We spent the second night at the camp, enjoying a dinner by the fireplace. The tents are spacious and the beds are very comfy! Very well equiped. All the staff was very good at making sure that we felt safe, comfortable and happy. Sambhu, thank you very much for making our stay so special.

CanadaWe had a memorable 1 night stay at Desert Vista Camp. Shambhu was very prompt and responsive in his communication. We were picked up at the airport and it was a start of a wonderful experience. Shambhu and his team were warm and welcoming. The tent and bathroom were clean. The accommodations had everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast and meals were delicious, prepared with local ingredients. Desert safari and camel ride was the highlight of our visit. We enjoyed the cultural program as well. We also took a tour of Khaba fort, oasis and cenotaphs in the area. It was totally worthwhile! Would definitely recommend Desert Vista camp to anyone looking for an enjoyable and peaceful experience. It was the best part of our stay in Jaisalmer.

IndiaI had an unforgettable experience at the Desert Vista Camp in Jaisalmer, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the stunning views of the desert and the tranquil atmosphere. The staff, especially Shambhu Singh, went above and beyond to make sure every detail of my stay was perfect. The tents were incredibly comfortable and well-appointed, with all the modern amenities you could ask for, while still maintaining that authentic desert vibe. The food was outstanding—delicious local cuisine that really gave me a taste of Rajasthan’s rich flavors. The resort’s location is ideal for stargazing at night, and the camel safari was an experience I’ll never forget. If you’re looking for an authentic desert retreat with luxury and comfort, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

It is well placed for anyone seeking refuge from the world or looking for bird or wildlife. The team are helpful, knowledgable and friendly. The food fresh and reflects the local culture. Desert Vista Camp is a great place to relax and base for further exploration of a quieter, wilder part of the desert. The rooms are extremely good value, thoughtfully designed and very clean. The buffet meals are wholesome and healthy , and the service excellent. The staff and manager go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one, and are able to organise any kind of excursion or onward travel one needs. I very much enjoyed my stay - many thanks!

GermanyOutstanding experience!! This place is a jewel. It is hard to find the words and words don’t do the justice. The camp is so special, very stunning, not too big, so it feels very private and there is nothing around, you are in the desert already. It feels so peaceful and you can enjoy your time on the wonderful campsite. In the evening the host Shambhu even made a fire. The tents are beautiful, cozy, very clean, the bed is comfortable, and there are also real bathrooms with hot water. As it got a little cold at night, we used the provided heater. The service is outstanding. Everybody was so friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous, too. I have a very sensitive stomach and intolerances, so I am pretty picky with food. Everything was DELICIOUS. In the morning we got fruits and they cook lunch (if you want) and dinner for you. It was also not spicy as asked. Everything was made fresh and they also used mineral water to wash/ prepare things, so we Europeans don’t get sick. The safari options are also beyond brilliant. My husband and I did a safari with the car - driving through the dunes (it is fast and shaky, as I am sea and motion sick I took a pill, which I would recommend). The other night we did the camel safari, where you ride further into the desert and watch the sunset. (Unlike some other camps, where you only ride at/ around the camp). We did that as a private tour with dinner under the stars and it was like a dream. When we arrived with the camels at the wonderful place, we had it all to ourselves, no other people anywhere, even in the far distance. Shambhu was already there and had set up everything and was already preparing food for us. After the beautiful sunset, we had delicious dinner at the fire and afterwards we watched the stars for hours (even pillows and blankets were provided) - it was like a dream. One can see that Shambhu loves what he is doing and is so passionate about it.

United KingdomWe would have liked some local music, but enjoyed the peace instead!
We had such a good time at this camp. Shambhoo met us at our hotel in Jaisalmer and drove us via a desert fort and his home village to the camp. In the evening we took a jeep safari out into the desert for dinner under the stars round a fire. The tent was very comfortable, a great bed, and the desert was beautiful. This is inside the national park so it wasn't busy and was unspoiled. Shambhoo and his brothers really looked after us well and we were pleased we chose this camp. Communication and organisation were both first class!

Best place to enjoy the desert to the fullest + I went on a 3 days long trip including camel ride, sand dune jeep safari and night jeep safari. The first day we visited an abandoned city and later rode the camels to the dunes and slept under the sky in the desert. We had a very nice traditional dinner in the desert and I slept very well. It is an indescribable experience, you can see the whole Milkyway there. The second day we sat on the camels again and rode to the tent camp. On the way we saw more wild animals like antilopes, lizards and different kind of birds. My tent was so beautiful and comfortable, nicely furnised and well-equiped. I loved enjoying the high comfort in the desert. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they made me feel like the "queen of the desert". In the evening there was a traditional Rajasthani music and dance show where a beautifully dressed dancer lady taught us for the basic moves. We had so much fun. I highly recommend everyone to stay in Desert Vista Camp! I will definitely come back here when I will be in Jaisalmer again.
