Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaIf I had to point out small areas for improvement, the parking space was a bit slippery due to continuous rain, which could be addressed for better convenience. Also, the water pressure in the bathroom was slightly low, though not a major issue.
From the moment we checked in, our experience at this property was nothing short of amazing. The property owner, Mr. Adam, though not staying on-site, was extremely courteous and very responsive. Anytime we had a query, he was just a call away and made sure everything was taken care of promptly. His professional yet warm approach set the tone for a comfortable stay. However, the real star of the entire experience was Prema Akka. She is not just a fantastic cook but also a genuinely caring and kind-hearted person. Every meal—whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner—was packed with flavor, freshness, and love. The food was so delicious that it is hard to put into words the happiness of enjoying each dish. She has a gift when it comes to cooking, and it truly felt like we were being fed by a family member who wanted nothing but the best for us. Throughout our stay, she ensured we were comfortable, well-fed, and had everything we needed. Her hospitality alone makes this property worth visiting again. The property itself is very tastefully designed. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The interiors, lighting, and overall aesthetics give it a boutique hotel feel, while still maintaining the warmth and charm of a homestay. Hygiene standards were excellent throughout the property. The location is a bit away from the main Coorg/Madikeri town, but that’s exactly what makes it perfect for those who wish to relax and unwind amidst nature. It offers a quiet, peaceful environment away from the crowd, yet with all the comforts you might need. WiFi (BSNL) was available, which was helpful when needed. Food was another highlight, with plenty of options to choose from at very reasonable rates. It’s rare to find such a combination of variety, taste, and affordability all in one place. Overall, our stay was truly memorable and unforgettable. The warmth of the people, especially Prema Akka’s hospitality and incredible food, made the trip extra special.

IndiaIt's outside of Madikkeri. So if you are preferring to visit tourist attractions, you have to tavel quite a distance from here to reach any of the tourist attractions. Not a place if you are looking for a stay within city reachable area.
If you want to escape to some place so serene and relaxing, yes you may definitely look for this property.

IndiaPerhaps, the setting in the garden could be more conducive to sitting and reading or just being. Covered in dew and leaves from the night, it didn't invite books on its surface.
Tucked beyond Polibetta, Coorg Kolamatte is a beautiful coffee plantation with a cosy house set in the middle. Quaint furniture, old photos, beautiful surreal paintings, framed art nouveau prints and an eclectic bookshelf invite you in. A generous lightbox of a front parlour offers a perfect place to while away the hours on a rickety carom board if you have a child. Roxie, the fabulous dog, adds warmth to your stay. Mornings begin with a soundscape of birds. Meander through the plantation into dew-wrapped spider silk funnels, layered mushrooms and slating sunlight, a world of insects, birds, sights, sounds and smells amidst the coffee bushes. Warm and inviting, the talkative caretaker Prema delivers piping hot home-cooked meals, a spic and span home and cheery conversation in Kannada, which, unfortunately, we do not speak. Though elaborate hand gestures and one-word telegraphic communication substituted fairly well. The delicious meals were complimentary, to our surprise. Evenings were spent having coffee in the garden. The drive to and from Polibetta, though far from smooth, is still picturesque, with plantations bordering the road for miles. All in all, it was a restful and poetic holiday for us.

IndiaNo cook, did not get even single day's good single meal. It seems the owner has just bought the property to make money. No sign of hospitality. No one is there to cater to your needs. Location is very far off from main coorg ie: Madekeri
Property is fine. Well maintained and clean. No staff, no cook to give you food or attend to your needs. Location far off.

IndiaThe host and communication. Too much silence. Food was okay but definitely not worth the price. We checked out and continue at a different property for the next day. Too overpriced for the room provided.
