Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

It was a joy to stay in this beautifully renovated historic house in the Pol house district of Ahmedabad. The staff are attentive and the breakfast was delightful.

IndiaWe loved our short stay at Diwanji Ni Haveli! The place is full of culture and has such an authentic charm—it really felt like stepping back in time. The location is perfect if you enjoy shopping and bargaining at the local markets. Just a heads-up: the streets are quite narrow, so you'll need to take a rickshaw to reach the haveli, but that just adds to the experience! The staff were amazing—so warm, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a unique and memorable stay.

United KingdomDown side was leakage in the shower block, and leaky water spray in the toilet. However these were fixable minor plumbing issues. There is parking issue as the old city has many narrow streets that are not suitable for cars. It is perfect if you use local rickshaws.
We loved this old heritage property in a 300 year old city. Felt nostalgic as we had similar properties in our village which sadly been demolished and modern ones in their place! I love how this property has been refurbished and modern amenities added in for guests, with government funding. Beautiful halls inside which are being used for functions etc…when guests are not staying. We had a comfortable triple room, the single beds were little small for a bigger person but we were ok. It is noisy during the day if you open the windows but thats part of the experience. There were fans and AC in the room. However it was ideally suited to explore the old city. I spent half day walking around the city and saw so many temples and beautiful old heritage places. The manager was very helpful and the staff were friendly and thoughtful. We loved our Gujarati breakfast. The haveli does not provide other meals but you can order food online and they will provide dishes and cutlery. There is night market for street foods nearby. Just be careful with your belongings. The staff are happy to make tea/coffee when you want.

South AfricaThe second visit was not great, we felt like unexpected guests. Rooms were not well prepared to receive guests. The food was prepared for one of the owners and unpalatable for our western taste. The bathrooms with three beds require an upgrade.. drainage is not good. The guest bathroom on ground floor smells very strongly of moth balls.very unpleasant. Attention to detail required in all rooms, I requested fresh towels as the ones we had were gray and hard. Perhaps these youngsters need a few more hospitality skills.
I stayed at this property twice with my group of travellers. The first visit was great. Mukesh, Mohan, Dattu were kind and helpful .

United KingdomIt is not that easy to find.....or maybe it was me! Although the building is in a main street location, for some reason the address is not easy to recognise but please don't let that put you off, it is well worth it!
The building is beautiful and my room was lovely. Peaceful and well-located.

SwitzerlandEven though I do not see it as a priority: Having absolutely no service in the room (clean, make beds, empty trash) felt a bit weird after a few nights.

SwitzerlandSome features were a bit tired. Eg: In the first room we stayed in, the bathroom was very basic. The breakfast on offer was very disappointing.
A fascinating property with associated history. A delight to see a heritage properly brought back to life. Fantastic location in old town. Lots of hustle and bustle. Gor second and third night we upgraded our room. A good decision… room and bathroom were fantastic

United StatesThe house can be a challenge to get to unless you arrive before 9am or after 10pm. It is nestled in the center of Old Ahmedabad on a narrow and street. Unless you are arriving on foot, it’s best to have your taxi driver communicate with the manager of the house to direct them and/or meet them in the street (as he did in our case).
The property is an important historic monument. It is a very special experience staying there. There are only three rooms in this sprawling 300 year old home. It is like staying in a living museum.

ItalyBeautiful historic building in the heart of the city, near Manek Chowk. It has been recently restored to high standards. The room was spacious with a lovely view of the havelly across the street. Breakfast was fine though a bit limited. We loved walking in the area which is so full of history and character.

United KingdomWe stayed here for 3 nights in November 2024. The room was perfect for three adults and the room facilities were great. Towels, products and fresh drinking water were provided daily. Mukesh and the team were absolutely fantastic - and no request was too much. They really treated us like guests in their home. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, a variety of traditional Gujarati breakfasts everyday. The location of the Haveli is fantastic if you’re looking to shop in Manek Chowk - it’s a stones throw away from the clothes market and the nighttime food market. I would recommend arriving and departing before 9am - if arriving/ departing with luggage, as the street fills up after this time making it impossible to arrive/ depart by car.

The property is a Haveli which has been restored with modern facilities but keeping the original character. The bedroom was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Makesh and his staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It is located in the old city within walking distance of the main sights. It was perfect for us but please be aware that it is an older building full of character in the bustle and noise of the old city not a modern chain hotel. Also don’t be worried if your pickup car stops in a street and a man opens the door to take your cases. Cars cannot reach the haveli so one of the staff meets the car and brings your cases to it.
